so the RH we want gave us the 2009 price and said they would honor it for 2010 if we booked within reason. Would it be too ballsy of us to try and get the 2008 price? How would we even do it? TIF

Re: too ballsy?
No such thing as too balsy when it comes to bargaining. What is the worst they say? No? Ask, and if they say no, just don't push

yup, just like everyone said, it never hurts to ask. u'll be surprised with how much you can save on everything just by bargaining.

i think there's a way to ask for anything. You could say something to the effect of, 'I could have my dream wedding here but unfortunately it's a little out of my budget. Do you think we could work with $xx per person?'
I would ask for a dollar amount rather than 'the 08 price'. Semantically, it seems as thought you are looking to stay within a number/budget rather than haggle for a better deal just for the hell of it.
Maybe it's just me that thinks that. haha
I agree with how this poster suggested phrasing things.
Be careful. You don't want to push too much becauce if you seem 'greedy' they can screw you within their rights. We didnt ask for ANY freebies and got soooo many because the guy who booked us said we were a nice, non-demanding couple.
Tread carefully is all I am saying.

I agree with both ladies. I look at it as can't hurt might help but don't hold it against them if they say no
