That seems alittle high to me. Where did you get the quotes from?

I was quoted around $3500 for 18 tables, 6 BM and GM my bo-k my throw away. Decorations for the church and Parents and Grandparents crosages. Yours seems high. But it could also be the type of flower. I would keep looking around.

That's alot. I have plenty of things I'd rather spend 10K on. Like putting it towards a DP, furniture, vacations etc....

Shop around.

So far I went to verbena and a small local florist.

I went to Flowers By Brian yesterday and had a great meeting with one of their designers. I haven't gotten a quote yet so I don't know if it'll be better.

would you FM me your place. maybe i can go there with my new roses idea and see what they tell me.

hells yeah!!!!!!!!!! This is the only project I would have loved to do myself, But I don't think I'll have the time.

Is it reasonable for me to ask to keep it at 5K for the whole thing for this many tables?

wow - that sounds really high but i think the flowers you have in there are more expensive then most flowers.

i paid 3300 for
20 ceneterpieces
flowers for parents & grandparents
my entire bridal party (17 ppl in BP )
rose petals
cake flowers
church decor
throw away bokt

Re: Too much for flowers?

you can probably go back and talk them down a bit or see if they can throw in a few more things for free.

for example...the fresh petals for the ceremony...two places i went to didn't charge for that

or for example the floating candle cps for the ch - you can just have the florist do the set up and u buy the glass containers and floating candles (in bulk its cheaper than $15 each even if u just get everything at michaels).

the price might be higher depending on the size of the boks and if there is no greenery etc. but the corsages seem a bit high if ure just getting 3 roses.

Wow, that sounds like a good deal! Your Flowers look gorgeous too. Was your overall experience with them good, you felt that you got what you asked for etc...?

Wowzers.

My flowers, with an arch for the ceremony, centerpieces and bo-ks total is under $1000. Gotta love Tim's in Massapequa. They even gave me a free MOH bo-k because they are the house florist.

I'm getting roses and gerber daisies though... I love flowers, but would rather spend that money on something else.

I only need like 10-12 centerpieces, grandmas, moms and dads, 5 bridesmaids, 2 flower girls & 4 groomsmen.

Re: Too much for flowers?

it feels like alot of money for flowers. you have very expensive flowers though which could be jacking up the price. if you want to save i suggest alternating some of the higher priced flowers with more economical ones of the same color. same effect, less cost.

i have 22 centerpieces, my bo-k (and my throw away bo-k), 1 moh bo-k, 11 bm boks, 2 jr. bm bo-ks, 3 corsages, 11 bouts, and 2 alter lge. alter arrangements all for under 3k

Re: Too much for flowers?

The first quote does seem about correct. It really depends on the types of flowers. You have alot of orchids which are on the expensive side. I used all orchids for everything and was charged about that much but I did have 35 tables. I've heard from here that Burtton's has a fixed price for their cp and boks no matter what flower you pick (or something like that). You might want to try them.

Re: Too much for flowers?

Actually the $7,700 sounds about right...you are getting ALOT of flowers and the Cymbidium Orchids and White Orchids Stephanotis alone are expensive! (I've learned that from watching all those silly bridal shows)

I would try Flower Michelle and Pedestals to see what they say.....

Good luck!

They should be able to offer more affordable options of flowers which will offer the same type of look and feel.

How elaborate or the CH decorations? Can you cut back, the guests will be there for an hour and the tables are usually smaller. You may be able to DIY this part, some candles will look really elegant here. Many RH will set it up for you.

Re: Too much for flowers?

Oh I just noticed something.... you want stephanotis for your groomsmen? those are the little white flowers right? If so, I would double think that because I've been told that they are extreamely sentitive and fragile and really won't last very long. I know those are expensive so it might really be a waste. I had used white dendrobium orchids which look similar, are a little less expensive than the stephanotis and last longer. Just realize (which i did after the wedding) that groomsmen don't know about flowers and that by mid afternoon some will have lost their bouts alltogether. hope this makes sence...

You can definitely negotiate with Jenn at Verbena.

Your quote is a little on the high side.

you have fm
& yes I was realllly happy with my flowers.
everyone thought my CP were fake when i was giving them out at the end of the night. They looked perfect - and then when people touched them they were like OMG THEY'RE REAL!!!! !

That sounds pretty high - can you cut back on some of that? Like someone suggested getting your own candle cps for the CH?

What are they doing with the cake for $165? That seems kind of high to me.

I'm spending around $2k on my flowers, and I got 18 low CPs, 8BM bo-ks, my bo-k, 10 bouts, 7 corsages and something small for my FG.

given, mine are mostly callas and roses (with the exception of my bo-k that has stephanotis with rhinestones in it), but I think you could definitely do a little better.

Try Flower Barn in Seaford

Way too much!

Re: Too much for flowers?

It sounds high...often places charge more for specific flowers...what you can do is ask the florist what flowers are driving the cost up. Maybe they can break it down for you as to why it costs so much.

If your still looking check out Pedastals they are awesome
