I think it's a good idea... but at the same time I think thats really what we're SUPPOSED to be doing LOL... but that would definetly keep it to strictly weddings...

I am not against it, but it seems like more work for Roz and Liz to do when we are the ones who should be following the topic headings. I just feel bad for them.

My main problem is that the existing NWR board does not exist in my mind anymore. Everytime I post there, I feel like I am poking my nose in a close knit group and it makes me uncomfortable. Sorry if this part offends anyone but it is just the way that board makes me feel.

I am feeling this. I post mainly here and do actually restrict BHB posts to weddings stuff. With the 05 bridal ladies -- the reason I am guilty of non wedding QOTD is that I think:
1. It allows us to know each other in a richer dimension than just flowers and wedding planning.
2. I feel so comfortable with the awesome group of women here that it is THEIR opinions I wish to hear, rather than those of people I really do not have any experience with on NWR.
3. My concern is where do you draw the line of what is/is not wedding related. Certain things, like venting about a tough day, argument with future in laws, or reporting on not feeling well are part of the experience of planning too -- but not 'planning' in the truest sense. The sense of camraderie that all of the experience has provided is what I relish most.
I guess I sort of agree Diva in principle with the idea of BHB for wedding and bridal questions and limiting to that, but with 05 or 04, or someday 06, when it is more than just wedding planning but stress relief and chat with girls that I know, I would hate to be restricted only to 'Where are you registered', 'Do you like this dress length' every day. My $0.10

I think this has come up in discussion before about BHB and I agree that it should be wedding only - that's what it was intended for. Trying to police everyone though is too difficult and that's why there are always NWR topics.

As far as 2005 - I like that we can talk about everything and I too come here more than any other board. I haven't really been over to NWR in a long time.

What I would like to see would be the idea of stickies on 2005. So at the top we could have topics locked up top (where we can still post). Like:

Flower Ideas
Stationery Ideas

That might make the planning portion easier since we could locate those topics but then leave the rest open for discussion to move about when they get old. Just an idea.

I must agree with DG & DM

I HARDLY vist the other boards, i feel
like 'i am poking my nose in'
Funny i was thinking of posting a poll 'do you visit the other boards since coming to 05 board ?

I KNOW the ladies of 05 (some in person & others i am getting to know)
& here is my cyberhome. That is why i enjoy the full flavor the board has evolved into.

Diva, I'm not sure if I am for or against having a strict BHB board wth no NWR. But I wonder how a stricter BHB would be enforced? I guess it would mean more work for the moderators of the site, having to monitor it more closely. Also, what would the rules be? Only one NWR thread on each board every day? And the additional NWR threads would be pulled by the moderators?

I was on an Ebay board where they did a similar thing- the 'off topic' threads were running rampant, so the board moderator announced that there would only be one 'off topic' thread where those issues could be addressed per day. There were pros and cons to this: some people were upset about having only one thread (b/c they felt their posts would go unanswered, lost in the thread), and others were happy that the off topic threads weren't all over the place.

On that board, I noticed that the off topic thread would come and go. Somtimes there were a lot, and sometimes a little. But every so often the moderators will return to the stricter policy when they decide it gets to be too many, and it calms down.

LOL, i am sorry to ramble. I don't think I answered your question, but I wanted to let you know what kinds of results it has.

Gotcha, Diva - thanks for clarifying. I agree -- the women of 05 are what I love most and the mix of topics with them (wedding and not) is fab.
On an aside, I am saddened that you had to be concerned that SIMPLY POSTING YOUR opinion would have to be done with concern for drama....regardless of which board or the recent adventures in wackiness, we should all, always, be allowed to post respectful but differing opinions.

Oh let me clarify - I think BHB should be wedding only - so that it doesn't get overloaded - but as far as 2005 - this is where I come with all my questions and comments - Wedding related and NWR - I would have too hard of a time changing that - I'm comfortable here more than any other board.

Pretty Miss Ang,
I think you, me, and several others are saying the same thing -- actually, Miss Diva also, if I am not mistaken.

I thought so too but when I re-read my post it sounded like I was saying keep only wedding things on BHB - I didn't mean it like that. Make sense? (maybe it did all along though )
