for all....

Count me in ladies! Can I join your group?

I'm always down or feeling blah for one reason or another... It seems I've lost touch with pretty much most of my friends... We're down to occasional out of the blue phone calls now... they're all married and off in baby-land and I feel like the old maid (I'm 27 and the last one out of all my friends to get married)...

Then I have this little problem where I overanalyze every aspect of my life to death and I start to get what feels like panic attacks over things that are completely out of my control! I seriously lose sleep at night from thinking too much... just because I want things perfect - which I know is unrealistic.. but I still do it anyway.... I wish my brain would just give it a rest sometimes and stop over-thinking so much... like thinking about the wedding and how fast time is flying and how much I have left to do and then I start having a panick attack....... or how I'm almost 30 and I'm nowhere near where I thought I'd be at 30 and I give myself a panick attack that keeps me up all night...... or when the right time to start a family will be considering I'm almost 30 but we are not 'there yet' financially/stability-wise.... and I start panicking............... OMG I'm giving myself a panick attack right now just writing and thinking about this stuff....... does anyone have this problem too or am I the only headcase who does this? lol

And I totally know what you all mean about making friends nowadays being hard... club/bar scenes are not my scene anymore... I'm not in school anymore... co-workers are not the friendliest bunch... lol I don't know where/how to make new friends anymore (it was so much easier when I was younger)......

Will anyone be my friend?

I'm going to add another psychological f*cker into the mix. Has anyone else lost weight and still literally looks in the mirror and sees their old self? Its so hard for me to buy clothes b/c I cannot for the life of me convince myself to buy a smaller size. I honestly look at myself in the mirror and still feel disgusting even though I KNOW that I lost weight. I hate it. I hate being one of those girls who is like 'oh my god im so fat!!!' but I honestly and truely think it.

That is VERY common. In HS I lost over 100 lbs and STILL felt like the fat girl - even though I was not. They just touched on this on the show 'big medicine' on TLC. The girl had gastric bypass, got skinny, but still had the mentality of a fat girl. She was having trouble with dating and stuff.

Yes I saw that one! Its really frustrating b/c I will literally take clothes into the fitting room that are 4 sizes too big. Its so stupid. We need group therapy I think!

there you go- a gtg at the shrink...lol

I'm so there

i'm right there with you all, way too much anxiety, and that icky blah feeling is all too familiar.

how strange is it that there are so many girls on here that have the same exact thing going on?!?!?

I don't think it's strange at all! In college, I was on a bit of a rampage to try to break down mental disease stigma and would talk in different classes about depression and anxiety and stuff...and you would be amazed how many girls would come up afterwards and be like, 'wow, I thought it was just me' or 'I thought I wasn't allowed to talk about it!'

My personal opinion: mental disease/disorders should be treated like any other disease...something that is NOT the patient's fault.

I actually passed out before I was diagnosed with anxiety, and I happened to be at the gastric---stomach doctor. I got light headed blacked out and the stomach dr thought I had a seziure. After many tests including brian waves/heart tests I was diagnosed with anxiety. TADA!!!!!

Wow- at least you were with the dr when you pased out.

Yeah.. but it wasnt a seziure. What does he know he does stomach disease/complications.

When you pass out form anxiety it could be because your blood pressure decreases and your heart rate increases or vice versa. Also, the seratonin in your brain is not staying in the right places.

Yeah, I guess I have to throw my hat into the anxiety ring, lol.

I was going to post about my frustration lately with trying to get off Zoloft, but was like 'Nawh, that's probably too much info and all the nice girls will just think the newb is crazy.'

I've been off of Zoloft for two weeks now, and just decided that I'm going back on. I had these CRAZY discontiunation symptoms---has anyone had anything like a brain shiver?! It's the worst feeling in the world...and when they finally started going away (after a week and a half) my anxiety has come back to kick my ***. For me, it feels like a very very heavy elephant is sitting on my chest. Really makes it hard to have enthusiasm about anything.

I'm so glad that I'm not the only bride whose 'imperfect!'

i went off my meds for awhile.. zoloft worked wonders for me at first.. but then it kind of balanced out and now i'm on lexapro. One day i opened my pills and left them on the edge of the sink while i took them.. well that was stupid cause FH came down and scared the crap out of me and knocked them all out into the sink.. only 2 were salvageable. My doctor was on vacation for 1.5 weeks and i freaked out cause no one else would give them to me without knowing my history..etc. etc. My anxiety got pretty bad again after a week.. i was so relieved when i got my meds again.. (crazy pill popper that i am...lol).. but it took another week to start really working again.. and i'm still having some problems.. argg. it's so frustrating!!! It really is a horrible feeling!

I think it's so funny how different meds work for different people--for me, Lexapro was so bad! I got dry mouth which doesn't SOUND so bad but oh man, it drove me nuts, lol! I really wanted to get off the Zoloft because I don't like the idea of having to rely on something chemical, but I guess I still need it.

i felt the same way! i hated the idea of having to be on meds.. i've been dealing with this since i was like 14.. 10 years is a long time to be on and off meds. But anytime i stop.. it just comes back to kick me in the a$$. Maybe someday they will find something better for us!! (wishful thinking)

I hope so! God knows physciatry is improved so much from where it was 50 years ago...at least we don't have to worry about lobotomies!!

believe me, if you ever had an anxiety or panic attack, you would know. You heart races, you get dizzy, you sweat, you can't focus your mind. It truely is like you are dying. Thank god I haven't had a full blown one in a while but I am on a low dosage of effexor, I think it is just a placebo at this point. But my fh is so good when I feel it, he really knows how to calm me down and doesn't make me feel weak for feeling that way. It can be very embaressing around people who do not understand it

can u get that like once in a blue moon? lol sorry for the weird questions but i passed out once for no reason and its almost happened several other times when i was out...and thats kinda how it feels...i remember all of a sudden getting very hot and dizzy..then i start to black out...ive been able to stop it a bunch of times (if i can sit and relax for a minute i can get the feeling to pass then i just go home and feel fine) but ive also had the same feeling and have actually passed out in the middle of a place before (lol im trying to self diagnosis myself haha)

Sounds like panic disorder, but its dangerous to self diagnose Although I steal antibiotics from my office all the time and give them to ppl w/colds so who the hell am i to talk??

LOL- You sound like my mom- she is always getting anti-biotics from her boss to give to us. We get better though so it works I quess??

Another anxiety attach symptom is when you are out and you get the feeling that YOU HAVE TO LEAVE the place along with dizziness. Whooee- bad feeling.

Yes!!!!!! like 2 months ago i went to happy hour and fh's uncle was there too and i felt so rude cause i told fh 'I have to leave NOW!' and i just walked out and left without saying bye to anyone cause i had that feeling and knew that if i attempted to stay id end up passing out..as soon as i walked out of the bar i had to just sit down outside for like 10mins before i was ok to drive home

I did this to FH at a restaurant. I scared the crap out of him. He was like- whats the matter, what happened. And I'm like just shut up...lol. Poor guy1

yeah! fh and i were together less then a year and we went to a comedy show and all of a sudden i wasnt feeling well but we were there with alllll of fhs friends so i didnt want to say that i needed to leave..so i thought the feeling would just go away..and well the next thing i remember i was outside....fh said i just passed out and he caught me and then i woke back up but only walked like 2 steps before i fell again and he had to carry me outside, dead weight..not to mention that the comedian even made a comment like 'ohh someone drank a little tooo much tonight' (meanwhile i didnt drink anythign!) i was sooo embarressed especially since i was just starting to get to know all of fhs friends and i didnt that in front of EVERYONE uhhhh haha

There is medication out there that definitely helps with this, alot of people are hesitant at first but it definitely is helpful. Unfortunately people are hesitant because some get prescribed certain pills that really just numb you but not in a great way.

alot of people go off meds when they're feeling better but it simply means the meds are working, and yeah then people get off it and the cycle starts again. Don't feel bad about being on meds for so long, there are people who will have to be on meds for the rest of their life.

Yeah, but the meds are supposed to help teach your brain how to produce the chemicals on its own. Guess I'm not there yet!

banging your head against the wall will only give you a headache on top of everything else.

I don't suffer from insanity... i enjoy every minute of it.

don't feel bad, you're not the only one who is a 'head case'
