OK, so my Christmas suked big time...my DH just called and he wants to make up for it and ring in 06 the right way. But the caveat is that we never do anything so we're clueless. So, what do you guys normally do? Any ideas for a nice party/atmosphere where driniking, eating, dancing and no driving take place?

We need suggestions!

We're going to a New Year's party at a friend's house. But there was one year we went to Mulcahy's. That was okay.

I used to DJ almost every year on New Years for awhile, so I don't really have any good Long Island suggestions.

we are going out for dinner tonight ( maybe) if its still raining I would not bessuprised if he doesnt want to go...and New Years eve staying home wathing the ball drop and going to bed

We used to go to a hall every year for NYE, one year including Jericho Terrace--its fun, but more fun if you have a group of people to go with, ya know? Do you have one or two more couples that have no plans and could join you guys?

Ever since my friend and her hubbie bought their house.....its tradition they have a NYE party every year...3rd year in a row. That is where we'll be......a house party, but its just as good as a club.....

A concert sounds so fun! I also wish we had real friends that weren't lame and would invite us to a party! LOL

We are staying home and maybe going to church at 9 for the Centennial mass and then to watch the fireworks, nothing crazy, otherwise staying home and having a party for 2

dinner with two other couples at a restaurant in the city, then back to our friends apartment for dessert and to ring in the new year. At 12:05, we'll be heading home

UPDATE:

My DH, sensing how stressed I was and how depressed I was becoming about the 'city thing' decided to have a party at our place!

Very last minute, very nutso, but I sent out evites and so far 6 people are coming! So New Year's will be at my place where I could get drunk at my leisure and not have to worry about cabbing it home or feet aching and crowds...I love my husband!

Just had to share...my hubby rocks!

This is dumb, but I want to take my FH to Paris so bad, as it is one of my favorite places in the world. So, I'm surprising him by having a French themed cocktain/dinner party. It will be all French food, drinks, music, etc, the works!!! Hopefully, he'll love it and I can talk him into taking me real soon. I also bought French CD's so he can learn the language of love
