We need to keep things positive!! We are all approaching our wedding dates, so lets take what really p i sses us off and turn it around and laugh about it!!

My BM, who cannot afford to bring her fiance from TX, asked to bring 2 dates, her mom and bro...so her whole fam....

Sure thing...I just need to take a trip to the money farm!

There is this older man at work who is little burnt out and crazy. He always asks how much longer until the wedding and he always tells us if we invite him he is a grantee $200 or $400 ( I can't remember exactly what he said) and if I sit him next to this young girl he likes he will give me an extra $50.

Just a crazy cousin, who seems to be so jealous of us having the wedding of our dreams. She never showed up and we were actually thrilled about it....So all in all our day was 100% Perfect........

i get the usual bs from work cuz most of my coworkers have been divorced..'your too young', 'dont get married' blah blahh blah

i love when people tell me their spending alot (my favorite: a fortune)on my wedding, especially bp members. seriously i picked very inexpensive dresses and am not expecting anything. like their the only ones dropping $$ on the wedding.

lol remember that thread about that louis vuitton wedding where the cake was all louis and her dress? i posted it on myspace with the subject 'a sneak peek of my wedding' and a girl (not invited) took me serious! the louis vuitton cake had those tacky colored fountains under it (no offense to anyone, i just hate those things) and she offered to give me the ones she used for her sweet 16. nooo thanks.

i get the usual bitching and moaning about how far from staten island the wedding is. only about 20 people are coming from the island. everyone else is in brooklyn and queens. its not that serious.

I don't know if anyone will think that this is weird but I do....
My FH was talking to his mom (FMIL) and he told her that they needed to work on picking out a song to dance to at the reception. She told him that she wanted to dance to Ave Maria since she's always liked that song.....does anyone else think that that is a strange song choice?

definitely not th kind f song thats good for dancing to!
Has she ever turned on the radio?

not to mention the song is a traditional funeral song about saying goodbye....though its so popular for weddings.

Oh where to begin... I apoligize for this being long...

When we first got engaged, I had both FBIL and FFIL ask why we couldn't just have the wedding in Pittsburgh where they're from... yeah ok...

If I ever mention that I'm working on plans for the wedding around FFIL he acts suprised like I've already done so much, what is left to do? It kills me, don't you realize that as I get closer to the wedding I'll only have MORE to do??

Then I've had my boss at home tell me countless times that I probably need a wedding planner because there's no way I could do all of this by myself, way to make me feel good about this!

I've had trouble with two bridesmaids... one wanted to order her dress seperately because it was $10 cheaper online elsewhere. And another one tried telling me originally that she couldn't order her dress because she's an accountant and she'd be too busy until tax season was over! Luckily both of them have since ordered there dress!

I had my boss in Pittsburgh mention to me that I should just save myself the trouble and elope. I nearly bit his head off, and simply replied 'it would be more trouble to elope because I would regret never having the wedding I dreamed of. Plus I enjoy this, I wish I didn't have to worry about other things and could just work on planning my wedding, it's everything else in my life that's stressful.' That shut him up.

And it's a tradition in Pittsburgh to have 'cookie tables' at your wedding, I don't completely understand it because these cookies are out the entire time, not just for dessert. Anyways, if I have one more person complain to me from here that I'm not having it... I think I will throw cookies at them!

I'll add. A confirmed bachelor in the family talked for a good 10 minutes to my mom and I about how weddings are a huge waste of money and instead of speaking 10K on a lavish wedding, he would rather take a really great honeymoon.
First of all, my wedding is a less than a month and your opinion at this point is just annoying? Second, do you really think that 10K can buy a lavish wedding or a private island, month-long honeymoon?

if he could throw me a wedding for 10k I would hire him as my wedding planner............I want everything I have now though.

he might have to perform sex u a l favors to get the right price though!

Maybe a lil off topic...When first got engaged 2 years ago I was so excited I asked a few girls to be BM right away. 2 of my 5 BM are FH's sisters.
All was fine until a few weeks ago when Fh called his sisters at home. 'Hey I'm just calling to find out if youguys are still going to be BM' he asked not knowing he was on speaker phone. Not only did his 2 sisters hear him but his cousin who they have grown up in the same household from very young. Of course all 3 pf them answered yes. The other 2 knew it was meant for them and not her but couldn't say anything. And I didn't have the heart to tell her she wasn't a contender.
So now I have 6 BM and searching for another GM.

I have a strange one that just came up...my cousin from Italy and his wife are invited to my wedding. They have 1 little girl who is 4 years old who i spent some time with. She is the only child besides the kids in my bridal party who is invited because i do not expect them to come to NY from Italy and leave their daughter in Italy (they are coming to the wedding). My cousin who lives 25 minutes from the RH thinks she should be allowed to bring her 4 kids being that Stefano's daughter is invited. Hello! You just left your kids with your MIL for a week to go on vacation!!!!! What is wrong with people!!!! Then i would have to invite all of my 2nd cousins which is 91 and FH's second cousins which is 36! I dont think so!

ha ha
this is so funny!

Here are mine:

1. Are you going to have a real wedding? (no, it's all for show) Two people who don't know each other asked this.

2. After telling a close friend my budget (25K) she said, 'A decent wedding in NY is at least 40 thousand'

3. I sent an e-mail to FMIL telling her all about the RH with pics included. Her response -- 'Are you having a party there?' FH said not to worry because he'll just call them and announce the engagement again. lol

4. My sister/MOH said that it's incredibly rude for the bride to pick out the BM dresses because the bride is not paying for it.

5. Someone I hardly know said, 'I can't wait to get my invitation' I was actually speechless for a minute and didn't respond.

6. This one I already vented about -- someone I know wrinkled her nose when I mentioned the name of my RH. sigh

I have another one.

My 'Aunt' (parents best friend) didn't come to my shower and can't come to my wedding because her son is getting divorced.

Ummmmm don't these things take a year or so, I guess she can't do anything until it's finalized?! Guess she will be unavailable for a long time!

oh similar boat.....no kids...FMIL SCREAMED at me for not inviting kids and that her fam wont come because they cannot bring their children.....meanwhile, we have set up babysitters for the under 18 kids durring the reception...they can come to the church and the afterparty, just not the recep since if i add kids its another 6K worth of ppl! I dont have that, she doesnt and im sure as heck not asking my mom to fork it out since shes paying for the whole wedding!! UGH she makes me nuts!
