My BM, who cannot afford to bring her fiance from TX, asked to bring 2 dates, her mom and bro...so her whole fam....

and another one. Before engagement i was told 'How long have you been together why hasnt he asked you to marry him yet? Same person when told I was engaged. ' Why did you go and do that for?' Hmmmm can you say your Psycho????

I go to school OOT and a lot of the funny remarks are just because NY weddings are a breed of their own.
1. I was telling one friend how I was trying to figure out what my colors would be -- I wish I still had her exact wording but she basically made a comment like 'wow, people really do that?' (more confused thn obnoxious) but she made it seem like it was such a Bridezilla thing to pick wedding colors and try to coordinate things
2. people are shocked that i already ordered my dress, picked out BM dresses, booked all of our major vendors etc. the wedding is in 6 months!
3. a couple of people had trouble understanding that i am getting married at my hall, and the hall provides the food (without requiring an outside caterer). it might not be the norm out here, but it's not a totally outrageous idea!
4. I used to be friends with 'A' in elem school but then she treated me horribly all through HS and finally I told her off in 11th grade. She then refused to go out if i was going to be there too and made my friends alternate who they could hang out with. After years of this she finally agreed we could all go out as a group on New Years, and after some drinky she told me she was really offended and hurt that she wasn't invited out the night i announced my engagement to my home friends. Really. She also told me the luau she and her bf threw the same day as my engagement party was 'not planned' to be the same day Mmhmm. I really think she's just jealous that the rest of her friends are invited (and 2 are in my bridal party) and she's trying to get a wedding invite. sorry!

I was told by a close friend she is taking dance lessons so her and her boyfriend can 'get some attention' with their moves.
....ugh... i thought I was the one should should want attention that night? Little does she know, I dont!

I just got back from Stop and Shop and the cashier saw my ering. She said and I quote,
Cashier-Oh I see you're getting married! Did you buy your dress?
Me-yes
Cashier- I hope it's not too tight, you really need to have the body for that!

They one in Coram...she had short curly dark brown hair...I should've gotten her name! Seriously, I'm guessing she must have gone to a wedding recently and the gown was not flattering or something???i don't know!

I totally feel ya on this one... whenever I get lunch from the cafeteria at my job, the guy who rings us up always says to me, 'are you sure you want to eat that, your wedding is coming up... you don't want your dress to be too tight!!!' sooooooooo annoying

I can really go ON and ON.... that's how sad its been, but thanks for the thread! Atleast I know I'm on the same boat as people. So here are my top 3 irkers of the moment:
1. If I have to explain why I am getting married on a Thursday again, I'm gonna really have to shoot whoever said it,
2. I am constantly being told by every person who should be in my bridal party (as we still haven't finalized our choice)
AND THE BEST ONE OF ALL! 3. I was told by a person who attended my engagement party that having one was tacky. 3b. Was told by the same person that I OWE her $100 at her wedding, cause it was her gift to me at the engagement party.
