Just curious what everyone was doing for the groom & groomsmen. We opted for regular ties for the groomsmen & dads, but I'm not sure if that was the best decision. FH says it doesn't look 'like a tux' with a regular tie.

Re: tuxes: ties or bowties??
I was sure I was going to go with a bow tie becuase the other way didn't look like tuxes to me either. But then I saw him in the cream color and it looked so good on. We went with that. The collar of the tux shirt should be tabbed - it makes it look a bit different than a suit.
I would keep the whole party the same though. Just a suggestion.

We did bowties, just since every wedding we've been to in the past five years has done ties and we wanted to be different.

Thank you! I love this look and I also have a wedding party of mainly construction-type workers who are more comfortable in jeans and ripped t's so i think that this will work better for them

Re: tuxes: ties or bowties??
FH wears ties everyday for work, so he really wanted a bow-tie. I really liked the look of the ties, but he really wanted the bow-ties.
I figured I wouldn't argue this one, He's let me have my way all along.

I like ties better. the bow tie is kind of old fashioned

Re: tuxes: ties or bowties??
We are doing ties for the GMs and bow ties for the Dads. I really wanted bow ties on everyone because I think it looks more classy and I feel like a tie is just plain boring (like a regular day going to work), but some battles aren't worth fighting!!

Well FH is torn so I'm not sure what he will do. The GM will wear ties. My dad prefers a tie as well...so we'll see.

Windsor ties.
The bow ties remind me too much of the 80's prom look with me with my big hair.
