TWELVE MORE DAYS TO MY DUE DATE! ARGH

panic, panic, panic!

Nursery is pretty much done.
No xmas lights up I really love white lights on in the dark winter.
still feel a bit of dis-belief.

Developed PUPPS which is an itchy-skin disorder. Common to preg women- but I am itchy all over my body. Have a prescription strength hydrocortson...and taking one .25 mil Benedryl at night- still wake up every hour scratching. Terrible terrbile feeling.
I actually starting crying last night about it because I felt I wasn't 'handling' it correctly and if I can't handle this- how am I going to handle a baby???

need to get some un-interrupted scratch free sleep!!!

Still working in Manhatten- trying to wrap things up here- which is like a joke- that can never happen in advertising!

WOW, Phyl...12 days to go, and you're still working!??? God bless you!! I couldn't do it - I became so tired toward the end. Hang in there. I'm sorry about the itchy skin thing. Have you tried a soothing Aveeno bath? Will that help, or did your doctor say no more baths at this stage of pregnancy. If you've started to dilate, you can't take baths.

Keep us posted on how you are doing. And definitely try hard to get some rest. You will need it as soon as that baby arrives!

I remember having 12 days to go and then my due date arrived and no one wanted out yet... she came 5 days later!! How rude right.

Don't worry about handling your scratching at night... don't cry you will be a great mom! As for the sleep part of what you want... you've decided to have a baby YOU WILL NEVER SLEEP AGAIN!!!

Kids are wonderful and good luck with delivery (it's not as bad as people make it out to be, yes it hurts A LOT but it could be much worse. I was in labor for 22 hours and wound up with a c/s!)

Phyl - hang in there! You will be a great Mom! My girlfriend had the same thing for almost her entire pregnancy and she survived -- and she was pregnant with TWINS!! You will do great! I can't wait to hear everything! Sending you hugs!!

I took an Aveeno bath last night and it seemed to help a bit.
Dont know if Im dilated or not as the midwife did not check me. They have not done an 'internal' ck at all.
It took Rob and hour in 15 min to make it from far rockaway ( where he works) to Bourough Park bklyn for my drs appt this past monday! SO...the midwife told us that maybe we dont wait until the contractions are 3 to 5 min apart! I will be delivering at Maimomaides Hospital...since my drs are in bklyn- and I didnt want to change drs.

So. a good friend is giving me keys to her apt in Bay Ridge. If we hit the road too early and make it into bklyn, we can stay at her place for as long as we need to ( in early labor)

Yes- we do know what we are having- but we have kept it a secret.....

and I will Def have someone post when our little one arrives.
All that is left to do is pack my bag ...and straighten up the nuresery a bit more.
and maybe put up some xmas lights on my windows.. ( I love the lights !)

Best of luck, Phyl!! What a wonderful and exciting time!!!

My girlfriend had her daughter 2 years ago on December 20th...she said she was the best Christmas present she ever got!!

I think the panic happens to everyone. It's part excitement & fear wrapped up together. Patrick was breech so we were waiting to see if he was going to turn over. I had an appoitment w/ the hospital for an ultra sound & I burst into tears that morning telling my Fi I'm not ready, in can't be today!!! He came a week later by c/s. And even w/ the ups & downs he is the best thing God has ever created!!!
