I defnitely agree with the not talking about it to ANYONE idea! I really don't even bring it up anymore unless I am asked..which even still I try to not say too much..I have been getting comments for almost a year now & did a pretty good job about not caring until a co-worker said a little to much to me yesterday & I cried & told her off!! haha She apologized today & bought me lunch because I went off about everything she has ever said since the day I got engaged about judging my fiance & my wedding!! I shocked her so bad & it felt great!! haha...moral of the story..people always have too much to say so if you don't offer them anything they have nothing to go on.. just enjoy every minute of your planning!!!

well..since you asked..haha.. I work with my mom actually, so I've known all of these people for 20 years but I've worked there for 10. I love them all like the Aunts I never had but they just say way too much sometimes. I was saying to my mom how my friend Michelle started her xmas shopping & wanted to know if we were setting a limit this year because she knows I'm saving for the wedding. So I was telling my mom & that she is getting me the garter I love. So then I went on to say how they have a shadow box I am going to get to keep that & the invitation in. She looks at me like I have 3 heads & goes..' I hope marriage is all you think it will be..' like really condescending & walks away.. not even your wedding but 'your marriage??' what the hell is that supposed to mean?! So I run in the back crying & she went to my mom after looking for me because I guess she knew she upset me. She just really hurt me..for months I have been keeping this all inside & I just couldn't take it anymore. So she finds me & is like 'Gina I'm so sorry, oh no you're crying?! I 'm sorry..it's just that in the grand scheme of life this little things that are important to you don't really matter..' I went even more hysterical & threw it all up at her I said just because it's not important to you doesn't mean it shouldn't be important to me! I've had a '(shizzy)' life at times, then lost my grandma who was like my 3rd parent & now my other is dying! why can't I be allowed to focus on something positive! I said & you saying you hope marriage is all I think it's going to be?? then she says 'You don't know how it's going to turn out'..I said NO ONE DOES! but why are you like saying such negative things to me??!!..'I said I'm not having an extravagant wedding! It's on a friggin Thursday for God's sake! nothing is going to change after we get married this is it already! I just can't wait to walk down that aisle to him, & celebrate how truly happy I am.' I told her I don't bring anything in to show you anymore since the comments about my glasses ( I brought the toasting flutes in & all she said was that her daughter didn't have those why would you need them..) & she out right said to me that no one wants to hear about my wedding all the time a few months ago so I don't even speak of it! She was like shocked I saw it in her face she just kept saying she's sorry she had no idea. I know she doesn't mean to but I out right told her 'you hurt me!!'..so then she's like I'm sorry I have to go help the Doctor I'm sorry. I know it's really not that big of a deal but this has been going on for almost a year since I got engaged & it felt so good to get that all out! the whole entire thing caught me off guard so I was like shaking like a psycho because I was yelling & hysterically crying all at the same time..

today when I came in she was apologizing up & down to my mom & I & brought in lunch for us...she said she didn't sleep all night because she felt bad..still had to throw in how she's worried about me after the wedding but said that it's not her business..she's like living together & marriage are two different things..she pretends like her life is perfect & never tells anyone when things are bad..I think there's major 'shiz' going on for a 55 year old to care so much about my wedding & life..geez..

Unfortunately everyone is going to comment about something - you can't please everyone. After a while I got tired of it so I said if you would like to help us pay for the wedding contributions are greatly appreciated and I will accomodate your request!

I know it is hard but you just have to try to ignore them.

I'm keeping people on a 'need-to know basis.' Even my mom - I'm telling her things after it's said and done (except my dress shopping which she came with me). But anyway she still has something to say!
