UNBELIEVABLE thank you card!!!!!!

We went to a wedding about a month ago. Just got there thank you card.--... it was a computer generated card that read the following: 'Thank you for the lovely wedding gift, and for sharing in our special day.'
Matt & Kristi

Everything was done on computer --including their names. They didn't even SIGN their own thank you cards! - I thought it was very rude.

That is rude!! When I went to a bridal shower not too long ago, I spent hours arranging a beautiful gift basket for the bride and got a 'thank you for the lovely gift' card...I couldn't believe it!!!I always make sure that I am as specific as possible when thanking people for gifts!!!!!

well, at least you got one. I went to a wedding & never got a thank you. They just didn't do them.
I have read that if it is goingto be a while before you send thank yous you should send out acknoelegments that the gifts were received, maybe this is what that was?

I don't think that is the case with this couple. But... I could be wrong. But...Ooooh I know I am not wrong!

My MIL recently got a TY card.. get this... with the message pre-printed out on a LABEL.
It wasn't addressed to her & FIL and the names weren't signed, just on the bottom of the label.

SO the bride printed everything out and just slapped labels on all the cards! NOT EVEN a pre-printed card! Now THAT is impersonal!

That is very rude. I would rather give people a call and thank them over the phone than send something so impersonal.

Preprinted thank you cards are very rude! My parents got a preprinted thank you postcard (it was basically their picture printed on kodak paper!)

I was shocked! Plus the invite was sent out like 5 months after the wedding...

Is it okay to do labels on the envelopes? I will be handwriting the TY cards.

A thank you card should ALWAYS be handwritten, there is absolutely NO excuse for a computer generated Thank you - regardless if it was a Wedding, or a birthday- or whatever ! If you're sending a Thank You, the whole point is that you're genuinely grateful and want to express that........You Hand Write it !! - I agree 100% totally and completely RUDE !!!

No. This couple is from Mass. I doubt anyone on the boards knows them.

Thats obnoxious BUT THATS BETTER THAN NO THANK YOU CARD! My cousin got married last April and still have yet to recieve anything...still waiting for the thank you for the gift we gave them for their Jack and Jill Party too
