Until I can remember this word it's going to drive me nutso!!!!!

Original post by Olgaki

What is the word (I think it starts with an S) when a word has another meaning other than the objective meaning? (the word I am thinking of is NOT 'subjective')

An example is (I know this will make no sense but bear with me)

In Greek, the word for bucket is Kouvas.
Now, in Greek, if you call someone a Kouvas that means his head is empty and basically he's a dope.

WHAT IS THE WORD THAT DESCRIBES WHAT THE MEANING OF THE WORD IS IN THE SECOND EXAMPLE???

I've been trying to figure this out for DAYS and can't remember it lol HELP!

Wait, when ONE word has TWO meanings? The word they use for that in schools is homograph. They have used different words for it throughout the years, though.
