************** UPDATE: The only BM who didn't want strapless wound up falling in LOVE with three strapless dresses at the store and is now a convert. Funny how things work out sometimes.
Seriously! She was in love with the dresses! Everyone actually agreed on a strapless dress and wants to wear it strapless. They are going to look great - we picked out a Bill Levkoff that I'll post on another thread.
*****************
We're going for the FIRST TIME to try on BM dresses this weekend. I sent out pics of the two dresses I love, both of which happen to be strapless (like my own gown). None of my BMs are heavy - some are well endowed (like me!), but all of them are smaller than I am now.
One of them asked if they could get straps sewn in b/c she doesn't like wearing strapless bras.
Okay, say I pick these dresses -- would it be unreasonable to ask her to wear it strapless for the pictures and get straps that she can put on (and change bras) after pics / before the CH? There's a bridal suite with a private bathroom at the RH.
Grr... I knew someone would complain, but I LOVE this dress (and a very similar one without the pick ups):
I'm not sure how it would look with straps thick enough to wear a regular bra...
Anyone seen something similar (with or without pickups) that maybe has a different top?

Re: WWYD if a BM complained about strapless?
I think that dress will look fine with straps...
I personally am letting any BM add straps on to her dress if she wishes... Shes the one that has to wear it all day and I wouldnt want her to be uncomfortable.

you can let them ut the straps on at the reception after all the pics are done - i actually did this with my own gown

Re: WWYD if a BM complained about strapless?
another compromise would be to get shawls for them and have the girl(s) with straps wear the shawls over them for the pics. honestly though, i don't think straps would be too noticable.
