Valley Stream People

On my way to work, I noticed that Phil & Amy's flower shop on Rockaway Avenue closed up and they moved to DogWood Avenue in Franklin Square.

I cannot believe that the shop moved, they have been there for 60 years.

I used to live in Valley Stream (went to junior high and high school there). I can't think of where this florist was on Rockaway. Closer to Merrick or closer to Sunrise?

Closer to merrick road. If you were coming from lynbrook....you would make a left turn from merrick road, and the florist was on the right hand side next to the barber.

Where did you goto HighSchool?

I cannot belive that!!! OMG! I used to live there to and went to South for Jr-Sr High till I moved at the end of 10th grade.

I was graduating Carbonaro (6th grade) in 89!!
Maybe you know either of the Karpowitz boys (Derek or Damian) they lived on my block and they were older than me.

Nope dont know them. My sister now teaches at Carbonaro...but she didnt way back in 89.

Damn wish I was in 6th grade in 89 lol...

I know plenty of people...I guess it depends on where you lived....I have friends that live off Mill road, and I knew people that lived in the area behind green acres mall, near forest road school, and I knew people all the way down rockaway avenue and closer to my parents house.....

I probably didnt know people that you knew unless they had a younger brother or sister.

Oh ok...I lived behind Mill Pond (on Mill Rd by the old Steve's Pizzeria) on that short little block with like 4 houses on it (Fairfield St which was off Rockaway)
