yea..there's not much reviews online..and the ppl that i know who booked this place hired a separate caterer...but i really like the coordinator..he's such a nice guy..please reply girls! im booking tomorrow...

if youre looking for a place in SI, maybe go and take a look at Nicotras. My friend is getting married there this september, and theres a few girls on LIW getting married there. Have heard positive things about them

My sisters BF had her wedding there and she said it was beautiful...I pass it all the time and it is gorgeous. (Not my sisters BF wedding, but positive none the less: http://www.nycityweddings.com/chat/topic-520660-1.html)

If you are not happy with them and are looking for some place on Staten Island, may I recommend The Old Historic Bermuda Inn? We just had my sister's shower there and it was GORGEOUS...the food was excellent...people are still raving about it! (If you go there, ask for Cindy…she is a doll and SO helpful!)

Im from Staten Island. To be honest with you, I went to Vanderbilt in January. I wasnt happy with the food and I didnt care for there cocktail hr. ( The acutal room itself)
Try Island Chauteau on Fingerboard Rd. Its pretty there. HTH

I'm actually surprised by the negative reviews. I went to a 50th anniversary party in there but keep in mind they are millionaires and everything was beyond perfect! The place is gorgeous and the food was outrageous that night! Everything was so good! The view was amazing too!

The Vanderbilt is a very nice place one of the most expensive $$$$ RH in SI. The food is different, its mostly fusion...its not everyone's taste. I recommend you try their restaurant next door, The Sea Grill and try for yourself.

The place is absolutely beautiful! I wanted to have my wedding there but they were booked from the last two weeks in Sept through mid October of -09 and this was back in April.

I'm having my wedding at the Hilton instead and its a beautiful place, great food etc. Try for yourself and book the venue that you feel most comfortable with. I'm sure every place has good and bad reviews...it's all based on experience.

I was there a few months months ago for my cousin's wedding. The views are nice but I must agree that we were very turned off by the food. The wedding started very late, so we didn't get served until 11:30. By the time we got our food, it was quite cold and tasteless.

The Vanderbilt is nice because it's on the beach, but you don't really get the use of the beach.
Even taking pictures there is not ideal because it's dirty and there are so many people staring at the bride at all times.
DH and I like to take a walk on the boardwalk all the time, so we see many weddings there.

I'm not crazy about the decor, which is old fashioned. You don't get too much food, either.

The bridal room and staircase are really nice, though.

the Vanderbuilt is gorgeous ...by far the bets wedding I have been to , but they are super expensive


I am getting married at Nicotra's in staten Island which is at the hilton and they have amazing grounds and wonderful food ...

Full review in a couple weeks!!!
