We're plnning our honeymoon & we just have too many places on our agenda, so we have to cut out eiher venice or florence.
For those of you who have visited both cities, which one would you recommend we visit?
Thanks!

Re: Venice or Florence?
I LOVE LOVE LOVE Venice! It's romantic, there is so much to see, and the fact that there are no cars is amazing. To see buildings just sitting in the water is so cool. Rent the Italian Job and you'll see.

We're also planning on going to Rome & the Amalfi Coast, we definetly don't want to cut out either of those 2 though......

This is a tough decision, but I'd have to go with Florence for the reasons that everyone else mentioned and also if you have time you can drive to Tuscany (aka Heaven on Earth!). There's so much more to do in Florence, the museums, the open markets, the restaurants, etc. But if you only have a day or two, Venice would be perfect. You don't need to spend much more time than that there. It's absolutely breathtaking IMO and so worth seeing. But, it's very expensive..... Either way, you can't go wrong!

I've been to both and I would also say Venice. My very first night in Italy was spent in Venice at St. Mark's Square and my favorite memory from my WHOLE 2 week plus trip was listening to live classical music orchestras in the square at night. I literally broke down crying; it was the most incredible experience.
Oh my goodness me too! I just though of all the celebrity's and the old movies they filmed there! So surreal!

I love Venice. Just what the other girls said, it's more laid back. However, if you plan on seeing sites, Florence has a lot to offer. If you ever go to Venice, visit this island called Burano.
Happy planning.

Re: Venice or Florence?
They are both sooooo beautiful
Florence is gorgeous and there will be tons of musuems and old churches to visit...
but since this is your honeymoon.... Venice is definitely much more romantic..as other posts have said..it is quiet, mysterious and laid back..keep in mind there are not many 'clubs' or all night 'bars'
if you are looking for a quiet relaxed honeymoon, with days spent touring and evenings snuggling in the hotel than venice.. if you are looking for more action and plan to go out at night ( to clubs, etc.)...than florence is the pick
also if you are going in the end of May or June both cities will have tourists feel free to FM me if have any questions
