Okay, so I don't know if I'm the only one experiencing this, but it is making me so frustrated and I have a feeling other 2016 brides will be able to understand my pain lol so my fiance along with his family members, and even some of mine, keep questioning me as to why I'm meeting with vendors and talking with them now since we have two years to the wedding.

Am I the only one with a Type A personality that likes to have an idea of our budget and likes to have a plan? I don't even think they realize that if we book now as opposed to 2016, we will save money! Granted, I am getting married in November of 2016, but it is really starting to frustrate me that people keep making nasty comments. Is it wrong that I am excited and want to get things booked so we can have exactly what we want? Please tell me I'm not the only one going through this!

We are pretty much getting married on the same day so I totally feel your pain! My parents seem to be on the same page as me but FIL look at me like I'm psycho but then again they also said we should have a friend just take pictures for us haha! I say definitely book now if you can! I just booked my photographer/videographer and it's crazy how much they are going up starting January 1st!

I know!! This is what I'm trying to explain to everyone! The worst part of it all is when my FH sits there and says to me we don't have the money for any down payments right now, or to pay for anything, but I don't think that he realizes that in two years it's going to be even more! And I totally hear you with your FIL....mine are the same way! My future MIL is totally clueless as to what goes into planning a wedding, and it makes it worse that she criticizes me when they aren't contributing ANYTHING to the wedding....not even an engagement party or rehearsal dinner! It adds insult to injury because I know if we had their help, we would be able to book vendors right now. It's totally frustrating.

I'm getting married the weekend after you guys and totally feel your pain!!! Co workers, even my bridesmaids are like why are you booking vendors now?? I am like do you not get it that i sign contracts with 2014 prices for a 2016 wedding! i'm getting bargains left and right. My parents totally do not understand, but they know me, i have been this type A planning person my whole life so they may not agree but they support me. My FIL are actually even better than my parents but i think that's because they are so excited for the wedding, so i'm lucky in that sense. And my FH is extremely supportive because the way he thinks about it is the more we do now the more we can relax later. It really annoys my when m own bridesmaids and co workers are like wow...and i can tell they think i'm crazy! they don't understand how responsible we are being! I feel your pain girls! at least we have each other<3

I seriously think we have the same FIL's because it's the same things I'm dealing with meanwhile they aren't contributing at all, it's extremely frustrating. My advice to you is to go places and get the quotes from them even if you aren't signing a contract yet because some will honor those prices that they are giving you. If you want my quotes just lemme know :)

HI date twin! I am so sorry you are going through such frustration so early in the planning process! I have to say the only 'vendor' who acted/seemed surprised we were booking so early has been the church. Even family/friends are super anxious for me to continue to pick things out (colors, invites, the dress) all the details I feel can wait for now while we pick out the major vendors.

We spent a majority of our saved budget putting our deposit on the photographer/videographer I wanted to make sure we got who we wanted, and was willing to compromise on waiting until well into the new year for booking the next thing. The next payment for our venue is in January. It is really overwhelming but I find when I'm getting freaked out, I just try to take a deep breath and look at the big picture and realize there will be time to save up and pay things off especially since we booked so far in advance. Just keep doing what you two can right now, it will all fall into place.

I'm getting married the week after you and my friends think I'm crazy that I booked the photo, dj and videographer already. I'm the type of person that likes to have things in order, I've even gotten some sample invitations from wedding paper divas so i could start getting ideas of what I liked. I must say though, our vendors from when we went to look at them (mid November) until now have increased their price. So as long as you go and meet with them (like the other girls said) they should value the price they give you. I would suggest going sooner because come 2015 they probably will increase more.

Oh my god, it is so nice to know that I have people around who are exactly like me and totally understand why it is completely NORMAL to be thinking about booking and booking these things! Everyone around me thinks that I am completely insane, but Emmy I totally get what you're saying about being able to book now and relax later!!

Brittney, if you can send me your quotes, that would be absolutely amazing! Places are so weird about giving quotes via email or over the phone, I guess because these things cost so much and they don't want to scare us away haha!

Yay date twin!!! :) I love that! You have to fill me in on your timeline because I am still totally clueless haha but I keep trying to tell everyone, including my FH, that the sooner we book, the longer time period we have to pay things off which will really take the stress off of us in the long run! Who wouldn't want to pay 100 bucks a month over a 23 month period rather than 500 or more a month over the course of 7 or 8 months?! I swear the only people that don't think I'm insane are you girls lol so thankful I have this board to vent on! Btw, feel free to vent about anything that stresses you out on here too lol at least we have and understand each other!!

Onefineday, I keep trying to explain that to people too!! Things are only going to get more expensive going forward if we wait, so I'm really trying to book at least two vendors before the year is over and the prices go up in 2015! When we went to book our venue our banquet manager told us that since our venue opened its doors in I think 2012, the prices have gone up four or five times!! It's incredible that people don't understand things like that.

Hey hun, don't worry, the only person that needs to support and understand your way of thinking is the person Who is helping you flip this huge bill. No need to inform them of your plans... You and the rest of know why your doing it. I have thought of push my date to 2016 as well unfortunately I doubt I will have deals as well as others who have already booked. Everything will work out well!

You have no idea how nice it is to hear that I am not the only one who is going through this! I am getting married in a little over 14 months and I am STILL getting nasty comments about how early I am booking vendors and planning my wedding. Everyone thinks I'm crazy for trying to get all the major vendors booked before the end of this year! Very frustrating. You are not alone!

It is the worst thing in the world to be so excited that you have an appointment to meet with a vendor or may have found the perfect vendor, only to tell someone close to you and have them look at you like your nuts and then make nasty comments. Didnt anyone ever learn that if you don't have anything nice to say, then don't say anything at all?! Lol

I'm having an almost 3 year engagement so I totally feel you! We booked our venue last march and got a lot of sideways glances, but I just basically said I want what I want, at the price I want and there's no reason not to book early. Only big vendor we have left to do is florist. Don't let others' opinions factor into what you want to do. It's your day and you're paying. Everyone has opinions on everything I want to do and I listen and nod and let it go in one ear and out the other lol. It's YOUR day.

Lol great advice, when people make comments I'm just going to start saying, when you contribute to paying for my wedding, you can have an opinion on when I book vendors, until then....zip it lol it's just a relief knowing that this is something that happens to a lot of people and not just me :)

We got this too, and we were booked for 2015 since July. I think as they get closer and see how expensive everything is, they'll understand.

I completely understand where you are coming from. For example on Thanksgiving me and my FH went to his grandparent's house and I was all excited talking about the vendors we went to go see so far and that I finally decided on my wedding colors and they completely shut me down and made me feel like I was crazy. I was so happy and they made me feel like crap and this is not the first time they've done this either! I've come to the conclusion that I really don't care what other people think. I've got my mom's support, my maid of honor and my FH so whatever! Screw other people's opinions

I totally understand ! We got engaged April of this year and we booked our venue about 3 weeks later for our May 2016 wedding and booked all major vendors by like August/September! I'm glad you girls understand, and luckily my FMIL and my parents understand as well. It's the extended family that call me crazy, but who cares. You're saving money and that's all that matters
