I have a friend who is getting engaged shortly and is VERY anal and wants to start looking for venues in advance....She will be paying for the wedding herself and was very interested in venues on the water....Can anyone FM with pricing for summer months up until September? TIA

Re: Venues on the Water
Here are some prices I received:
Thatched Cottage: $56p/p including ceremony, cake, centerpieces (might be more stuff, I don't have my list with me). They are having a special.
Miller Beach Surf club: 37 p/p includes, sit down for either Friday/Sunday. Includes cake and alcohol. $400 for ceremony on site.
Brigdgeview Yacht club: Friday/Sunday $50 p/p (day time) **you have to call them 6 months in advance to book your reception** ( I wouldn't go with them if I were her)
Landsend is expensive, $105-$175 p/p plus a ceremony fee of $750.
San Souci seems to be good also, but I wasn't quoted but do have an appointment for June to meet with someone.
As I search, I will update.

Re: Venues on the Water
I'm currently looking at Marina del Rey. Basic menu on Sat night is 135 (no tax/tip), Fri is 100 and Sun is 105. If she wants a day wedding it's 80. Hope that helps!

That Bridgeview quote cant be right it will not be that low for a Friday/Saturday in the summer. I am having my wedding there on a Friday night in the April.

Re: Venues on the Water
The Riviera is right on the water and very beautiful! For a Saturday night in July 2011 it was 98pp++, which turns out to be about 125 including everything. They are really great to work with there too

Re: Venues on the Water
I am at Sans Souci
My price in the afternoon (Saturday) has a base of about $55. But then I added a few things!
This included the cake and an ice cream sundae bar.
I really love the place and it was the only place we saw where we didn't feel like they were trying to push us into something that we didn't want
