Video or no video?

Original post by songwriterchic

I've pretty much decided against videography but some people tell me 'oh you'll regret it'. I've known people who got married without a video and they don't regret it. Any thoughts? Anyone regret not having video? Anyone regret HAVING video?

I don't like video because it may make me too nervous and self consciuos...I don't want a camera on me when I'm dancing, I'm such a bad dancer anyway.

My mom said it's better to use the extra money I'd save by not doing video like on the honeymoon...well, his family's paying for that, but with the extra $1500 we could do a lot of shopping.

Those are just my cons...unless someone can convince me otherwise.

I guess it's personal preference. I didn't think twice about it. I was absolutely getting one. I love my video. Glenmar did a great job, very classy, not cheesy. The videographer was also really cool and down to earth. I watch my twice a week. I just bask in it.

I had both.

My opinion:

If you are looking to save money, then save it.

As much as I love my video (which is still in its unedited version due to my laziness), I feel more attached to my proofs. I can look at each shot and remember how I felt at every moment. With the video, as each moment passes, my thoughts dont have enough time to catch up before it moves on to the next thing.

I dont regret the video, but over time, I am more likely to look though my album before I will sit through a video for an hour or so.
