The bad reviews of Flower Michele just keep coming and coming! E-n-K, an '07 bride, wrote in her 7/28 review that they didn't even deliver ANY FLOWERS to the church and that all the BoKs were wilted. AKA...MY NIGHTMARE!
Is anyone else in a total panic?

I was afraid this was going to start happening. When Barbara left I said John is going to take on TOO much by himself now. From what I heard (I know an insider) Barbara did do alot to help him out and now he has alot to handle. I hope he hires someone new to help out soooonnn. Im using them too for my wedding.

I read the same reveiw. It did worry me a bit, but I've heard bad reviews about the majority of the vendors I'm using. Not many.......but I think that a business can't always meet everyone's needs. In this case no flowers at church, we're all human and make mistakes

it's a little stressful. i have an appt with them on friday, makes me a little nervous to say the least. i read a few reviews giving them bad grades.
I'm going friday at 6. What time will you be there?
I wouldnt worry about FM though. We really liked John and believe that they will do everything spectacular on our day. Not everyone is going to have the best to say about a vendor.
i'll be there at 7pm unfortunately by myself FH is working and MOH is having surgery that day. wanna stay for my appt with me??
I would if FH doesn't mind. My mom may be coming as well since she's paying for the flowers. I dont think we'll be there long though since we are just going to give them the deposit and show my mom stuff we discussed.
Maybe we'll run into eachother though!

he told us that he over extended himself in 07 and that he plans on booking less in 08.
he told us the same thing, and i do beleive him. I think we are all going to be fine
So do I.. he seemed like a very honest person and passionate about flowers and his job.

They're used to be two florsits, so I assume there's only one now. I guess they don't plan on hiring another????????

Re: W T F Flower Michele
There are a few florist designers in the back that you never meet or see. I met one of them when signing with barbara. John does some design but he and barbara were just sales mostly. They made sure that you got what you wanted and made sure your ideas were implimented that day.
I think the problem was even said - since barbara left many 07 brides had booked with her and there was no obvious time for them to return to go over their contracts and to properly go over the details with John. That is the major problem. Delivery issues that is another and I can't understand that one and that is a issue that makes me scared but that could happen to any vendor.
It was said a while ago that John was calling up all the 08 brides by the end of the year to have them come in to go over their contract to make sure all the details were all clear to him so nothing was left in the dark. I had made my appointment this Sunday to do so since I get my sample next month.
I assume they will be hiring a new salesperson soon and maybe beefing up the general staffing since they got massive business because of this contest. I think in the end us 08 gals have nothing to worry about because these things will work out by the end of this year.

There will always be some bad reviews in any business. I would voice any concerns to them if they are your vendor- it will give you peace of mind!
LOL, what should I say - why do the LIW brides think you stinnnnk lately!?!?!?
Seriously, though, you are right...my major concern is the traffic on my wedding day - Friday of Labor Day weekend. I'm so scared they'll be late. I'm obviously going to communicate that to them!
I would bring up your concerns to, in a very calm manner, i'm sure they willbe more than happy to address them and put you at easy.

Re: W T F Flower Michele
I'm really not concerned... I love John and he is always helpful when I call for assistance. Yeah everyone has a bad day or two. Maybe wherever he buys his flowers are having a problem. The Flower Market could have switched there supplier. But all in all you'll see mostly great reviews on hear about FM. Go with your gut, don't settle if your not happy and end up second guessing yourself up until the day of your wedding. You really have to be 100% comfortable. The same thing happened with my photographer, I wanted to get it done early and then I second guessed myself to the point where I lost my deposit and booked someone else.
Good Luck!!!!

John wanted my fiance and I to do our sample centerpieces around the day of our wedding this year so that way we get to see what flowers are actually available during our 'SEASON' --- It's a good idea

Re: W T F Flower Michele
Crashing. I used john for my wedding and thought he did an amazing job. I live in Brooklyn and he delivered my bo-K to me personally and then he went off to my fiance's house to deliver the bouts( which is about 20 mins from my house, then he went to the church to set up. I was an hour late to the ceremony and we were already in a time crunch because he had to take the flowers back to LI to decorate the hall. Well he had no problem taking everything down from the church and setting everything up in LI. They were very well organized and very efficient. I never saw them take everything down from the church and they never said anythign to me about being late and setting them back. I assume some vendors might do that. Most importantly I was very impressed by the flowers. The bo-k's were perfect and didn't wilt. The centerpieces were so much fuller than I imagined. Everything was perfect. I don't think you 08 brides have anything to worry about. I'm sure he'll work out any kinks by the end of the year.

hi. i booked flower michele and saw some of the bad reviews when i was on here last night. honestly, at first i was freaking out but then i realized its not worth freaking out over until its our wedding (and even then hopefully i'll stay calm). when we met with john we were very impressed and felt that he'd come through for us on our day. also, he told us that he over extended himself in 07 and that he plans on booking less in 08. this made me feel much better! i think the most important thing is to be 100% clear with him about what you want for the day of and it will be fine........(at least i'm hoping!)
btw jessica--you look amazing in your dress--i looked at the pics! beautiful!
Thank you!!!

Yeah, I mean maybe the reason is becasue she said that she was so into the ceremony that she didn't even notice until after the fact. Which is a great thing, because it would've been horrible if she was up on the altar thinking 'where are my flowers' rather than 'I'm so happy to be marrying my FH!'

Yeah she didn't notice until someone mentioned it and she checked the proofs. Churches are usually beautiful IMO. I'm more excited about the ceremony than anything else so I probably wouldn't notice either.

I think they are going through some changes right now and seem a little backed up. They had GREAT reviews in the past. Im sure they read this website and see the all the concerned clients and will get back on track soon...well in time for your wedding. I think all vendors have some ups and downs at some point.
I think with any vendor, you have to voice concerns you may have...kinda just to put it out there, ya know.
You know who my florist is and they have not had great reviews since 04, but then have been good recently. Im not really concerned b/c I think there was just an issue, or period of issues and they learned from it and are better now.
