So I just got an email from him requesting that I send his girlfriend's son an invitation with guest!

WHAT????? I have only met this son ONCE in my life! Why the EFF does he need to be at my wedding????????

Not to mention, I ALREADY HAVE MY INVITATIONS and my envelopes were done! So now I don't have a pre-made envelope for them.

This was my response:

I REALLY wish you would've asked me this before I had the invitations printed. This is why I asked you for a finalized list a few months ago. Now the envelope won't look like the rest.

What about her other son? How can we invite one and not the other?

I will put them on the B list. We already have over 250 people on the guest list. I am not putting them on the A list, because Mike and I have only met them once. If I get enough 'no' RSVP's, I will send them an invite.

Maybe push them over to the 'C' list.

My first impulse would be to tell him no...but honestly if I were in that situation I don't know what I would do.

aww id actually feel flattered! i would just send him an invite its only 2 more people idk thats jmo though, i think its a pretty harmless situation with no ill intentions

UPDATE:

So I just got off the phone with my dad. Apparently the son Gary, told his mother that he'd like to attend! What???? Who does that????

He said the other son doesn't like weddings so don't worry about him

Anyhow....I explained to my dad that I already have a total of 260 people on the guest list and that FH and I aren't even inviting any of our co-workers because we have so many! But that we would put them on the B list and if we have cancellations, they'll get an invite.

I'm not sure if I should feel flattered that this guy wants to come to my wedding, or annoyed that he has the ballz to do that?????? Apparently my dad thinks it's because he's dating this girl pretty seriously and he wants to get her in 'wedding mode.' I told him 'ALL HE NEEDS IS A DIAMOND RING........NOT MY FREAKING WEDDING!!!!!!!!'

I am semi-flattered, but at the same time a little flabbergasted that he would do that........but no, he is NOT family. He is my dad's girlfriend's son, who I've met once. I didn't even remember his name until my dad told me. I barely even know my dad's girlfriend (because of communication and language barriers) so I would HARDLY consider him family.

I think you did the right thing...but I'd 'C' list him if I were you. In other words, don't invite him even if you get enough no's.

It is a nice thought to want to get his girlfriend in the 'mood', but do it another way, not on your wedding day. It seems that he does not want to go to your wedding to be supportive of you and FH, but for his own benefit. Screw that!!!
