Walking down the aisle pregnant?...

Walking down the aisle pregnant?...

I found out the other week that I am pregnant and though I don't know the due date yet (I find out tomorrow!), I figure that I will be due in July, making me 7 months pregnant for my May wedding. I really don't want to change the date, but most of my family thinks we should try to push it up. I know though that even if the Swan club can push us up to an earlier date, there is no way that all our booked vendors will be able to do the same and there is no way I'm going to push the wedding back, because I want to be married when my baby is born. We're not getting married in a church, so do you think it is wrong to walk down the aisle so obviously pregnant?

Honestly, I don't. I think it is a blessing, and CONGRATULATIONS by the way! Given that you are not getting married in a church, there is noone who should object. Again, congratulations on your exciting news.

You should absolutely do whatever you are happy and comfortable with. If you'd rather 'push it up' then give it a try. If you run into snags and don't care about being 7 mos pregnant at wedding--then go for it! You'll be glowing let us know what you decide. Good luck!

And by the way--CONGRATULATIONS

Well, since you asked our opinions...

Whenever I think of a bride walking down the aisle while obviously pregnant, I just think 'Ugh'. I don't really know why. I just feel that there are too many things going on. Are you getting married or having the biggest baby shower known to man. LOL! I don't think its a good thing to do.

However, it is your wedding and you should do what you and your FH think is best.

CONGRATS!!!!

i say do whatever you feel comfortable with!!!! if you want to keep the same dsay and walk down the aisle as a pregnant goddess you do that!!!!!

if you decide to DO want to change your date, i dont know what to say as far as vendors... perhaps Doodles can give you some pointers?

Best wishes for a healthy pregnancy!

No problem with walking down the aisle (or doing any typical bridal things, for that matter), IMHO. It's your day -- what matters is what you and FH want.

You may want to think about how you may be feeling at 7 mos. pg, though. Will you have enough energy? Will you be able to be on your feet all day? Is there anything that would make your pregnancy high risk (meaning that despite your best efforts, you may be on bed rest for your wedding)?

I honestly dont think theres anything wrong with - its really no ones decision but yours and your FHs. I think the ability to get pregnant is a blessing and should be celebrated no matter what - no one can plan the perfect time to get pregnant.

BTW a friend of mine was 5 months pregnant at her wedding and I couldnt even tell with her big poofy dress!

First of all congratulations! And also, if you feel comfortable, then thats all that counts. I think there is nothing wrong with it at all... finding a dress might not be so easy though.

Like most of the other responses, I say 'congratulations'. There is absolutely nothing wrong with walking down the aisle pregnant. You do whatever you feel...I think you are taking everything in stride so well, and commend you for it. A baby is a blessing and it'll be mixed with the happiest day of your life :) Congrats to you!

First and foremost, Congratulations! Having a baby is a true blessing. Along with what everyone has said already, getting married and having a baby.....they both are wonderful events to occur. I wish you all the best.

As far as my opinion, I would not want to walk down the aisle pregnant. But I am more traditional in my thinking. But in this day and age, times are different. So walk proud knowing that the man you are walking towards is not only your FH but also the father of your unborn child.

God Bless!!

Re: Walking down the aisle pregnant?...

one of my best friends was married at 6 months preganant and she looked GORGEOUS!!! She was glowing and so happy.

A few of her relatives refused to go - they thought it was entirely inapropraite for her to be having a public wedding with a big belly - so there are people who will be upset at that sort of thing, but you have to do what is best for you!!!

What does your FH think.

And congrats!!

Yay!!! Congrats are in order!!!

I don't think there is anything wrong with walking down the aisle pregnant.....I think you will be that much more beautiful as you are glowing all the way down the ailsle!! I don't know what I would do if I were in your shoes, but for me attending a wedding, I wouldn't think anything different of the bride OR the groom.

I think if you're asking the question, though, you may already have second thoughts about doing it......so, if your vendors can cater to your date sooner---and you'll be more comfortable---then I'd at least try and if they can't help you move the date closer---Walk down the aisle, 7 months pregnant, with a big beautiful belly and smile!!!

Congrats again!!!

Kristen,

First, congrats on the baby!!!
I am also due in July and will know the date after my sonograms tomorrow. We bumped up our wedding date only because it would have been after the baby is born in July. I can only say, you and your FI need to do what will make you both happy!
FM me if you would like!!

CONGRATS AGAIN FELLOW PREGGERS!
