I found out the other week that I am pregnant and though I don't know the due date yet (I find out tomorrow!), I figure that I will be due in July, making me 7 months pregnant for my May wedding. I really don't want to change the date, but most of my family thinks we should try to push it up. I know though that even if the Swan club can push us up to an earlier date, there is no way that all our booked vendors will be able to do the same and there is no way I'm going to push the wedding back, because I want to be married when my baby is born. We're not getting married in a church, so do you think it is wrong to walk down the aisle so obviously pregnant?

Re: Walking down the aisle pregnant?...
Congrats!!!
As for walking down the aisle, as much as I don't believe the Church has any right to make decisions for you, just make sure that they won't not let you when the time comes. Some Church are more lenient than others... Good luck, and I hope everything works out for the best!!!

Well, since you asked our opinions...
Whenever I think of a bride walking down the aisle while obviously pregnant, I just think 'Ugh'. I don't really know why. I just feel that there are too many things going on. Are you getting married or having the biggest baby shower known to man. LOL! I don't think its a good thing to do.
However, it is your wedding and you should do what you and your FH think is best.
I appreciate your honesty. I'm sure there are a lot of people that feel the same way that are afraid to say anything. Though I don't neccesarily agree, I did indeed ask for opinions and I appreciate you giving an honest one.

Re: Walking down the aisle pregnant?...
I just want to thank everybody for your opinions and your warm wishes. I was surprised at the overwhelming amound of 'keep the date' responses. I'm just waiting to find out my due date and if it is in July, I'm going to keep my May wedding date! Thank you all for your thoughts and especially your congratulations towards me!

Re: Walking down the aisle pregnant?...
Congrats!!!! Keep the date if you think you can manage it!!! I've seen pregnant brides walk in strict RC churches. No problems!
Well first off congrats on your pregnancy!!!! Second b/c I am catholic- however not a strict practicing one, I still dont think its a good idea to walk down the aisle BUT you are not doing it in a church so I dont think it really matters. My worry would be my family saying oh what are they getting married cause shes pregnant! I dont usually care what people say but that would bother me. Its your day you ultimately have to do whats best for you your FH and your baby, yippy!!! I was allready warned by my mother its only a few months away- dont mess it up- my cousin did it and my family was not a happy camper!!! they always talked about it and negatively too. I dont want to bring you down on one of the most special times of your life just thought Id give my opinion too since your asking but remember it doesnt matter what I say or anyone else ---what you think does.

Re: Walking down the aisle pregnant?...
Congrats on your wonderful news!!
I say as long as you are able to handle the pregnancy and wedding planning, go for it. After all its your day and you can have it any way you want. On the other hand I am the kind of person that lets the opinions of others get to me. If your this way too, just keep in mind that not everyone maybe be as open to your decision and may make comments that you may not like.

Congrats!
If you feel confident enough to do it, go for it! Who cares what people think.
Me... unfortunately I care what people think. So, I would probably move the date.

Re: Walking down the aisle pregnant?...
Congratulations!! No matter how you slice it a baby is a blessing, don't do anything that you don't want to or feel unfortable doing. As long as you and your fh are happy, who cares what the nah-sayers have to say. In this day and age of the blended families, there is absolutely nothing wrong with walking down the aisle with a belly or a baby in tow!!
Don't know your faith but Bless You!!

Re: Walking down the aisle pregnant?...
Congratulations!! Best wished for a happy, safe and un-eventful pregnancy.
Walk down that aisle, with your head held high, knowing you are marrying the love of your life and that you will have a great life. You shouldn't care what people think.
Just don't drink the champagne! Maybe get some sparkling cider instead.

Re: Walking down the aisle pregnant?...
Congrats to you!!!
I work with a woman whose daughter found out she was pregnant in the middle of planning for her wedding and moved the date up (because she was going to be 9 months at the wedding date). She was 5 months when she got married and I saw the video... awesome time was had by all! I say do whatever you want girl!!! and dont let ANYONE try to sway you otherwise!
Congrats!!! Absolutely do whatever you would like to do- I think pregnant women are so beautiful- especially when they have the extra glow of getting married too!!

Re: Walking down the aisle pregnant?...
You don't need anyone's opinion but your own - If YOU are comfortable w/ it than go for it . - BUT just mentally prepare yourself for the jabs and snickering. - B/c that is inevitable and unavoidable. - People ARE going to talk ........ Congrats on the baby !!

Congrats!!!!! Keep the date. People are going to talk no matter what. I have already been asked if I am pregnant - which I am not.
The only concern - as noted earlier - is how you will feel at 7 month and if you will be able to walk around for 6 - 10 hours that day. If this is not your first baby, you already know what to expect .
Congrats again!!!!

Re: Walking down the aisle pregnant?...
Congradulations!!!!!!! I would say to do whatever you feel in your heart. We all have different feelings about different things. Go with you heart and don't worry about things, everything will fall into place.
I'm getting nervous, things happen in threes, this is number 2....I'm going to be extra careful
