Lana-

Did you ever call to set up the menu selection? I'm still waiting for them to contact me, wanted to know if I should wait, or call myself.

Re: WATERMILL thread

Hi Girls...

I have a question for you...

I blocked rooms for my guests at the Hampton Inn in Commack. The problem is, they don't have a bridal suite.

Do any of you have ideas as to where FH and I should stay the night of the wedding? I was hoping to stay somewhere special. The rate at the Hampton Inn was too good to pass up for our guests (with a shuttle), so we booked it for them.

Thank you!!!

Hampton Inn?? Give me details girl..with the shuttle included too?!?

I know one of my BM's booked hotel rooms for me (i'm in AZ for the last 2 months), and she got deal with the Marriott Islandia that if you ended up booking 10 rooms or so, you could get their bridal suite at the same price. We're doing Friday night in August, but still not a horribly bad deal at $109 a night.

Anyone have any other recommendations on nearby hotels? Preferably with a bar in the hotel (so after hour partiers can continue..). I have blocks at Marriott and Sheraton, but not being from L.I. don't really know 'real time' distances.

Any help would be appreciated!! :)

Re: WATERMILL thread

Oooooh....you booked a bridal suite at Marriot Islandia? I got the rooms at the Hamton Inn for the same price ($109). They told me we could use the shuttle there. It sounded like they were very specific about the whole procedure, that my guests had to be ready at midnight SHARP so I will let them know early on about that.

I really had hoped to stay in the same hotel as my guests. The HI has king sized rooms available that night, but no bridal suite. I guess it doesn't matter....we are only spending the night there.

I don't know what it looks like there, but the HI also told me my guests get a free hot breakfast the next morning, too. I was looking into booking the HI on 347, but the Commack hotel told me that although the 347 hotel was less miles, the many lights on the road made the trip longer than the Commack hotel.

Hope this all helps! Good Luck!

Re: WATERMILL thread

It's in the opposite direction but we are staying at the Inn at Fox Hollow. We got a Scotto Bros. discount for the bridal suite it worked out being a lot less than anything else we looked at and a lot nicer too.

My guests will not be staying there. I purposefully didn't want an after-hours party as we are flying to Europe the next day (time difference and all) plus I'm getting married on a holiday Monday. I'll see a lot of people on Saturday and Sunday.

FM me if you would like more details.

Re: WATERMILL thread

I have a differnt questions, that has nothing to do with hotel rooms.
My question is does any body know if they keep wine on tables during the reception.

Re: WATERMILL thread

I have the prestige menu and it doen't say anything about that. It might be extra. FH's family aren't big drinkers of anything so I never thought to ask.

I guess I will just call and ask. Thanks

Re: WATERMILL thread

I can ask about the wine. One thing FI really wanted was to have Glenlivet scotch. Bruce wrote it on our contract!

Something I need to ask about is shots. I hear they don't serve shots at the bar--only to the table. I'm not sure how true this is but I must ask cause all our friends are huge shot people!

Re: WATERMILL thread

Tom, our BM, told us they will serve shots at the bar, and that the Watermill is one of the only RH's that does anymore on LI!

Re: WATERMILL thread

thanks! a friend of mine went to a wedding there recently and the bartender wouldn't serve them shots at the bar. now, this could be something the bride arranged for--i have no idea.

thank you--good to hear otherwise!

Re: WATERMILL thread

Did any of you go to the showcase last night? I went with my mom and FMIL. It was nice. We made the mistake of trying the chocolate fountain....now I want it!!! Can you please tell me if you are using it and if so, how much they charge for it? Thank you!

Re: WATERMILL thread

I emailed a while back My BM about the shots and he told me no shots at all...I hate the mixed info...I'm setting up a meeting to finalize my menu, I will ask again about the shots, WE have a ton of shot people too!

We are staying at the Courtyard by MArriott ( off expressway) ...It was $109 a room for guests and we got the Bridal Suite for $179 ( originally $379). No shuttle though.

I decided since some other halls have a 'thread' on here...lets make one for us. I LOVE talking to other Watermill brides.
Lets tell what room we are in and any questions or things we find out we can share with each other.

We are upstairs in the Astor suite.

Some things I found out from my BM there is
- that for pictures you can show up as far as 1 & 1/2 hours before CH to take pictures there and the bridal attendant brings you food and drink while your taking pic's.

-They are frowning upon the 'votive candle place card holders' but Im doing them anyway since I didnt get a straight out no.

-The chocolate fountain can only be provided by them. Its $300 PLUS $3 a person

-the bathrooms have attendants in them during the wedding

-you can get flowers for your cake from their in house florist if you need

-you can call to get direction cards mailed to you

If I think of anything else I'll let ya's know.

And SHARE pics! I used to have a pic of the tables( to use with CP' planning but I lost it )

This was dm24angel's first post on the thread. It includes the info for the chocolate fountain.

Re: WATERMILL thread

Girls, I have some questions and keep meaning to call them but as I am a teacher and don't have a phone at my desk it's a bit of a pain.

Does anyone know the answers to any of the following questions?

1. If anyone is getting married there (outside) from where does the processional start?

2. If my min/max is 100 can I have 10 tables of ten?

3. What are the cake options? Flavors and frostings? Pictures?

4. Will they provide a runner for the ceremony?

5. Are guests allowed to throw anything at the ceremony?

Thanks.

I'm getting married outside as well and I found out that they do provide the runners for us. I'm sorry I don't have the answers to the other questions but now that you've asked I need to find out for myself.
