We Booked our florist... Flowers by Burton
We went on saturday morning.. we got a great deal, about $1200 for 12 centerpieces 2 altar bouquets, my bouquest, the moh and the bridesmaid, basically everything.. I was really happy.. I was wondering what everyone elses feedback is.. you can used any flower.. so does this mean all roses, or are the centerpieces smaller if you go with roses.. john was really helpful, but now i have all these questions popping up in my mind.. any fedback would be great!!!

I booked him also, I believe that the flowers mean 'anything'. I am having roses for my centerpieces too, and I did not get the impression that they would be smaller. Good price, my price was more expensive...but still a good deal.

tami, same questions here
I`m trying to decide on my florist this week, I`ve posted before that so far I`ve been to 6. I met w/ John from Burton`s this past Saturday too! I really liked John, however, he is the only florist that quoted me a pkg. price, instead of each item. This is bothering me, b/c it it seems like a deal, but when I compare to others, I`m not so sure. He kept saying, I`ll throw this and that in at no charge, but when compared to others the total quote is about the same. Did the pkg deal bother you too?? I really like it that it is 'any flower' too, and to answer your question, I think they really mean this. However, if I book with them, I plan on getting everything in writing (exactly how many of each flower and what flower etc) before I give a deposit. Did you get it in writing?? I know we won`t be disappointed b/c there is so much + feedback on this board, and I`ve trusted these ladies for other things (so far so good)!!

They did my sister's wedding and a bunch of friend's and they were all totally thrilled. The price is for whatever you want. It doesn't make any difference if it's roses or exotic flowers and they do a great job.I think they have been around for 20 years.

I have no idea, but the price is always better and the choice is always better.

Well, that's the thing, in my post above I stated that the price is not better than other florists (Flowers by Michele or Flowers by Maxine). So, I'm not sure if the price and choice are always better at Burtons. Where else did you look??

More info on Burton's
The 'pick any flower' does not mean smaller in size for more expensive flowers at all. John told me that when he first started it was very hard because brides kept changing their minds about what they wanted. Example: Day 1 she wants 10 roses, 6 cally lillies and 2 daisies. Day 10 she wants all lillies, Day 25 she wants all roses.... So he kept having to reprice all the time. That is why they went to this format of pricing. I think it is just easier not to price each item. Plus it seems that they throw a lot in for you so that is why it is a package total. You can price around if you want, and ask how much the same package would be. Burton's gave me a great price and I have a TON of stuff, wrapping my Aunt's staircase in tulle, 8 BMs, 3 mother's etc.. I felt totally comfortable and plus, I have not heard ONE negative post about their flowers on this board, or any other.

I am concerned - Long!
I have to say I am concerned about my deposit for Burtons. I raved about them in the beginning, because I was so excited about the price for doing my 11.9 at Oheka. As I looked over the contract though I realized that a major arrangement had been left off. The first thing people would see when they entered. I also realized after re-visiting Oheka that there were many areas left off the contract as well - they had told me to take pix and return and they would add on anything I needed and I am doing that tomorrow. However, after reading this board, my original quote is much higher than what other brides have gotten for that location - and for less flowers! I only have 3 girls - where others have 6 at the same location for less money. I don't know - I am wavering (as usual with all this stuff!) I am thinking that once I add everything I want, the price is going to end up being close to another vendor who I felt was more creative. I don't know WHAT to do. I feel like Burtons is a GREAT deal, but I might be a little concerned about the swiftness of the whole thing. I mean, the words 'any flowers, any style' are scrawled on my contract. I think I want a contract that specifies the size of the arrangements and the EXACT flowers that will be used. I dont want to find out in September that I have made the wrong choice. AAAH!!! It's all so stressful. I am sure Burtons is fine. There is never a bad thing said about them on this board. I will let you all know when I meet with them again tomorrow.

I booked Burtons for my 11-2 wedding. If you want sizes added to the contract that is fine, but exact flowers are hard since you can change your mind up a lot before then. I am sure that they will add sizes for you. I also think it is hard to do price comparisions sometimes because we are not showing photos of what we want, or putting more detail in our posts. For instance, I want small hand tied bouquets, other girls might want large casacades, and centerpieces are ALL different, some huge, high pieces in rented vases, others, like me, are low with 3 votives in each. And the same is for enterance flowers, ceremony flowers, etc.. Does that make sense?

you are right. it's very true. i guess what i need to do is go back there and just SLOW HIM DOWN a little! Tell him my concerns and see what the story is. i am just so worried about making the wrong decisions. What kind of flowers are you going with in november?

I booked Burtons for my 12/13 wedding and on my contract John specified what kind of flowers I would be getting and how many. Out of all the florists I went to see, they were by far the cheapest. I feel like they are giving me the most for my money. I was quoted around $200 per centerpiece elsewhere which was way out of my budget.

You might just want to make sure that they right in the contract exactly how many flowers you will get... for instance 3 dozen roses, 12 exotic, etc. I know you haven`t picked out your flowers yet but atleast get an idea. We choose Pedestals afte we saw their sample and Flowers By Brian sample. It was the same tall centerpiece and we asked for the same flowers to be used but Flowers By Brian put only 2 dozen roses in it (along with other flowers) and Pedestas put in 3 dozen roses along with even more flowers. Flowers By Brian also wanted to charge us $25 more. There are really good things about Burton`s posted here. Just try getting some sort of flower quantity in writing. Everyone`s idea of a 'full' centerpiece is different and Flowers By Brian certainly looked 'a lot more green' than we thought it would have. Good luck!

My girls are wearing deep plum. I am having some roses (of course), stephanotis in mine and my MOHs bouquet, berries (you have to see them, it looks so pretty) and some Fall flowers. e-mail me at [email protected] and I will send you the full list of what I want. I actually saw another florist who helped me pick some great stuff but was $1000 more than Burtons so I went with Burtons. I honestly have NEVER heard one girl say that they were unhappy with them. And that says a lot. Also, the event manager at the golf club told me about Burtons, and said that she always LOVES his work, even though they do not officially recommend them. Of course, when sites officially recommend that means that they get $$ somewhere along the line.

Don`t Sweat the Small Stuff
Jenny 11.9... Everything will look great. Do what you need to feel comfortable, then stop worrying. I`ve been stressing myself out lately by worrying about every little detail, and second guessing and third guessing every decision I`ve made. I don`t have a lot of time in my life to do that, so I`ve started telling myself that no matter who I go with, especially someone like Burtons (who I booked without even seeing anyone else)everything will be fine. After all, its about getting married to the one you love and starting a life together, right? Remember, nobodys going to notice if the flowers aren`t 'perfect'...they`ll look great and so will you! PS. 'Don`t Sweat the Small Stuff' is my new prayer that I have to start the day with, and tell myself about 1,000 times a day! Its helping!Welcome New Vendors
