We did it!!! My 9/27/02 Wedding review. (mega long!)

I would like to let you all know how amazing this sight is. We are all so lucky to have the help and support. I couldn't have done it without you girls. Thanks for everything.

Scores out of possible 10

Ceremony at St. Barnabas. Beautiful!! We had a full mass and I was so calm. I think Father Peter was the reason for that. He made us so comfortable.

The day was great!! Everyting went off without a hitch. Couldn't have asked for more! It was supposed to storm but we had no rain! Took all the pictures outside!! Just what I wanted.

I'll start with the rehersal dinner.
Nick Diangelo in Merrick.
What an amazing start! Awesome! Great food, perfect service, and reasonable prices. Would recommend to everyone.
Score: 10 ++

Angel Bridals:
The Best!! My dress arrives only 2 1/2 weeks after placing my order! Alterations perfect. I had a strapless dress and I never had to pull it up or adjust it the whole night. Fit like a glove! The ladies at the shop are like my family.
Score: 10+++

Flowers by Liz:
I couldn't tell you how amazing the flowers were. I can't believe you guys couldn't hear me screaming at your houses about how great they were! This was my favorite part of the wedding. I went crazy when she dropped the flowers at my house! They were exactly what I wanted and then some. The talk of the night. Table flowers in real pumpkins! The roses and all the flowers were breathtaking!Cake even got the staff at the watermill talking.

Video: Bellarino
Another of my favorite vendors! Phil is the best! What a nice man! I have no doubt I will be happy with the video. He arrived early, stayed late, and made me completely comfortable.

Limo: Ultimate Class
Arrived on time no problems. Nice cars. The drivers were helpful and nice to everyone. My driver Richard was very helpful. Love the white glove service.

Photography: Patkin
My photographer was Frank. Nice guy. We took pictures before the ceremony. Great idea, so glad I did that. Can't tell you much until the proofs are in, but he seemed to get some nice shots. Arrived early, stayed late, easy to work with.

DJ: Spin around sound
Liked Tom from the start.
The cocktail Hour... We paid for music and didn't get any. Tom said something about the watermill not being set up for it or something. DH spoke to him about it but seemed odd to me. Ended up with the piped watermill music. I think this was better anyway and watermill brides should think about doing this on purpose. We fixed the price with Tom at the end of the night, so we didn't pay him for the cocktail hour we didn't get. He played no music for the older folks to dance to. I told him we would have a large amount of guests over 60. I hardly any slow songs were played for them. I was having such a great time I didn't notice untill the next day. I think it's great I was having a great time but I feel bad about them.
I had a great time, lots of people dancing.

Makeup: Laura & Tara (her assistant)
Nice girl. Recommended buy bride Cira. Loved the way I looked. I NEVER wear makeup and I tought I looked great. I thought she did a much better job than her assistant. They were at my house whrn I came bach from the hair salon.
I didn't tip her because she does it for herself. She kept the $ for herself, after paying the assistant.
Score: 8 (points off for assistant, Would have gotten a 10 if she had done all the makeup herself.)

Hair: Design Masters, Bayshore
Caroline cuts my hair all year. She did a great job. MOH, SIL and MIL looked perfect! I was having such a great time i never checked my hair but everyone said it looked good thoughout the night. My hair is short, but my MOH had an updo and it stayed perfect from 11AM until 1 in the morning!
Score: 10

Watermill:
Great service, Great food. I never worried about them for a second. Scotto brothers have catering down to a science! I didn't eat much, too excited to be hungry. We had 13!!! People not show up!!!

So we paid almost $1300 too much. I can't believe how rude people can be!!! But this is another topic. And of course no falt of the watermill.

Tuxedos: Rogers in Babylon
Worked out fine. DH picked out everyting by himself. I loved it. they even fit my FIL who wears a size 64 jacket!!! (wow)
Seemed like a lot of mistakes with with the items, but they fixed everyhing. My DH said it seemed like they took the fitting measurements for show and did the actual fitting when the tuxes were picked up. Lots for stuff didn't fit. Perfect in the end. Not for me to stress over since I wasn't involved. Thank goodness!
Can't score, I didn't deal with them but the guys all looked like a perfect 10.

Have I forgotten anything?? If I have, ask me anything. I will give out any details. Thanks again.
Now we are off to San Fransisco and Maui!! I will post pictures when I get back.

Congrats. I glad to hearing everything went perfect. I am also having my reception at Watermill. I want to find out if they keep filling up the food at the cocktail hour when they were running low as a friend of mine just got married at Westbry Manor and they have people waiting on line for the cocktail hour food because they ran out. Was the service good?

Congratulations! We booked Tom to play for our cocktail hr as well - I hope he doesn't do the same thing!
As least he lowered the price, which was the right thing to do.

Thanks for clarifying that you didn't tip the make up woman - I booked a girl who does make up alone, and I was planning to tip her - even though she'll pocket all of the money. Did this woman wait around or expect a tip in any way? Tipping is SO hard!!!

Congrats again and enjoy newlywed life!
