Personally, if I can get married and have a place to live tomorrow, then I'd get married. This whole wedding planning and drama is annoying the heck out of me already.

Did you make a pro and con list?
If you haven't done this already, you and FH should make a list of every question and concern you have and discuss it with the show's producer. You don't wanna kick yourself later and regret this opportunity.

I KNOW!!!!! I cannot agree with you more. I think I'll be in line right behind you too!!

I told my mom earlier that me and FH should just have gone to Mexico and gotten married and be done with it!!!
I swear, I NEVER thought I'd turn into a paranoid bride and nutcase over crazy things. For example, should I have 5 or 6 votive candles on each table??!!!
WHAT!!! SOOOOOO didn't think I'd actually be confused and making an issue over whether I should put one more stupid candle on a table!!!

i think all of us have asked you the name of the show! what is this already? FM US so we can know, LOL!!!

First off, how exciting that you got the call!!!!!!!!!

I think that this is a tough decision, and that you are smart to call and ask a bunch of questions!!!

Either way we still want you to post on the 2011 board!! LOL

That really is a tough decision you have to make. One the one hand it would be awesome that you didn't have to wait to marry FH. On the other hand, it doesn't leave you much planning time. True you get 2 planners to help you get everything done but like you said, the whirlwind of stuff that's going to happen in the next 4 months may be a bit crazy on you and FH. Also, are these planners going to be doing 'their vision' or 'your vision' of your wedding? I don't think I would be comfortable with someone coming into the middle of my planning and change everything that I wanted to do just because it's going to be on national television. That's something you need to ask them and decide if you feel comfortable about that.

anyway... Isay, if you are okay with te planners doing it all and if you can afford to do it in4 months and you think you won’t be compromising anything then go for it
If it was me and I could afford it, I would do it. I don’t think I personally would regret the whole 4 month thing and not stretching it out to enjoy the planning. I would be okay with it. thats just me though… I would have rather had a short engagement if we could have afforded it than stretch it out. Just think all the stress will be over in 4 months rather than stretching the stress out over another whole year!

Like cc said (I think) make a list of pros and cons. And see which side wins. Good luck with everything and let us know what you decide.

honestly, if it were me, unless I was getting a SUBSTANTIAL amount of money (like basically, the whole cost of the wedding), I would not even entertain the idea. I'm someone who's dreamed of their wedding for a LONG LONG time and I'm actually enjoying the long engagement (although sometimes it s*cks) bc I like to think about all the little details and agonize over stupid decisions. I think its fun! ha, maybe I'm just nuts. Also, FH & I are private ppl and would not be comfortable on TV, but ultimately its about how you and your FH feel. Good luck with your decision and congrats again for being selected!

ETA - my friend planned her wedding in 6 WEEKS due to unexpected circumstances ( ) and it turned out AMAZING!!!!! and it wasn't a small wedding either - i think she said she had about 225 guests. The night of her wedding, she was ecstatic and said that she didn't think it would have turned out any better if she had planned it for a year, so ultimately, either way, I'm sure your wedding will be unbelieveable!

Soo excited for you that you got the call. Tough decision. I stress about everything and have a hard times making decisions but if you have the money saved and can do it why not. The only thing is that your bridal party needs to be prepared also bc they will have to put put money in a short amount of time as well. I'm not sure what I would do i mean if it was free wedding all payed for by the show then fine but I don't know how I feel about the cameras rolling on my wedding day. Whatever you decide best of luck!! FM with more details please... I want to know of the hall you picked!!

let me try to answer some of your questions...

FH doesn't want me telling the name of the show, it's a less popular show

the show is basically about a bride and groom who have 2 different visions of what they want their wedding to be

(i want simple and elegant, FH wants big and over the top)

we each get a wedding planner

and they help us sort out which vision to go with

it is NOT the wedding planners planning it their way...its is about the wedding planners helping to project each of our visions

my bridal party has all been warned and they are all OK with it, if anyone wasn't i'd be ok if they wanted to step down

no prize...they give us a small amount of money, i mean smalllll

but they told us that the planners have a lot of connections are often able to get us deals on a lot of things

ITA with Denise. I personally wouldn't have my wedding in four months (unless they paid for almost all of it) because I am actually enjoying the planning process and I think I would be overwhelmed if we were to get married in 4 months along with having to find a place to live (we don't live together right now). But you have to do what you want to do. If you don't do the show it may be something that you're going to regret down the road and vice versa. Definitely take some time to weigh the pros and cons of each decision. Good luck girlie!!

I'd just worry that I wouldn't have the $ I needed in time with 4 months and a very small budget from the show.

you could totally plan a wedding in 4 mos. you already have your dress!

If FH and I had more saved and you decided not to do it, I'd say we need to take your spot! We have the saaaaaaammmme perspectives.

Ahhhhh i think i know what show, even though i have not really seen it.

I dont know, i asked MY FH what he would do, he said if they paid for the wedding id get married next week. if not they helping much, then i dont see the point.

So i agree, i dont see the point of doing it in 4 months if you are not benefiting from it. (aside from TV) so i dont know
