Here is my thoughts since you asked

You have to weigh how much you will be getting based on how much you will be saving.

If you cannot save the right amount by the time of the wedding is there anyone you can borrow from and then pay them back based on the money you get as gifts.

Planning in 4 months is not a problem when you have 2 planners. They will be the leg work and you just have to say yes or no

As for a venue you will have to be open to anything because your choice might be booked up.

Don't forget wedding planners have pull at some vendors and can help you get a discount and if that vendor wants free national advertising they may also cut you a break knowing they will be on TV at the end of your planning

Just some thoughts

im so afraid of making the wrong choice...

i just spoke to them...and it didnt help me at allllllll

im MORE confused...

they promised me they wouldnt be obtrusive on the day of the wedding

we wont know any details of the wedding until MAY!

and they are pushing for us to get married in June, maybeeeeeeeeeee early July

the planners will get all our ideas...and start planning, getting numbers, dates and everything else lined up and ready to go

but we wont know about our RH until May when they start filming...and we wont have any firm decisions made until May either

See I think a huge part is not being in control of your whole wedding and not knowing until so late in the game! Based on the info you just provided, I don't think I'd be able to do it. I'm a control freak and have to know things yesterday.
It sounds like it really bothers you to not have much input or actually know the details. If you are upset as to how much control they will have right now, I cannot imagine how much more difficult it's going to be later on.

IMO, it doesn't sound like you would be happy to go through with the show. Also, if you aren't saving that much money or it wouldn't make a significant difference- I wouldn't do it.

I wonder if you make a list of things you want control over or knowledge about, whether they would honor it for you? Ask, you never know.

i dont know if this helps but...
all of my friends who have gotten married already wished they could go back and plan it in a shorter amount of time so they wouldnt have to deal with all the stress for so long... and if you do get to save any amount, that is good.. any $ saved is a $ used for something else

First of all CONGRATS!!!! Being chosen for a show is amazing and you have been talkinga bout it for a while so thats awesome!! Congrats again!

I guess what you and your FH has to think about is how much control you want over your wedding.Its true what everyone has said. If you can come up with the money in 4 months and you are able to pay for everything with no problems I say go for it. If you can get a HUGE amount of savings then do it.

But if you are going to have problems coming up with the money and you feel like you are going to start having to borrow money from the bank or family, then definitely dont do it! Once you sign a contract with TV producers, you basically sign over your rights (in a way). You wont know if the producers will pick the RH you wont or your FH's want. You wont know how big of a discount you will get at some of these places, esp florists. There is more maybes then definites that are associated with this situaction. Also note, with TV shows (and i kind of think i know what show you are talking about) DRAMA sells. SO why you think this planning may not be drama - free, it definitely will be a bit dramatic!

If it was me, with all that said, I might do it (hahaha) only because I love drama, I love doing things ASAP and I love TV (i work in media). My only problem would be coming up with the money like now!

NO matter what happens, congrats!! And hey you could be married in 4 months!!!!!! Craziness!

coming from someone who has had a 'long' engagement, the majority of the detail aren't dont til this time anyways (im getting married july 10)..honestly all ive realllly done are vendors and invites and favors-nothing you can't do in 4 months

if i could go back and money was no issue? id do it in 4 months

there was an 09 bride who did it in 5 i believe-and her wedding was BEAUTIFUL
