We need some thoughts and prayers too..AGAIN!

All the prayers we can get will help. FH's brother, a member of our wedding party, has just gone into respitory failure...now I do not know too much about this besides the fact that we were told the next 3-4 hours are critical. I can't believe that this is happening...it is very disheartening and quite upsetting. Any of you with some medical backgroud knowledge that can give me a better scope of what to expect, it would be greatly appreciated.

OMG Debbie, my prayers are with you immediately !!!
I'll try to be of some help, I can call my sister (a doctor)
1st she will ask what caused the failure. Has he had any kind of condition like asthma or a history of broncitis (sp?)
Does he smoke? Any known heart conditions?

no but he does have cancer. First it was in his rectum, then liver, than lungs, then spine and spine again. They took everything they could out with surgery and he has been going for chemo.

My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family. I agree, it is strange how you can find comfort in people you have never met...a few weeks ago I logged on looking for some comfort the day before I was to fly down to LI to see my dying Grandpa.
Everyone immediately reached out and offered their kind words...so, in your time of need, I hope you find comfort and chat if you need to...
I will say a prayer tonight...

Wow, Debbie, that's a lot for him to go through. I wonder if he's having some reaction to chemo. My FHs mom had a bad reaction once, and she also had respiratory problems, not as serious as your BIL though.
I'm trying to call my sister and see if there's any info she can tell me.
I haven't found her yet, I'll let you know what I found out.

My prayers and are being sent right now. I imagine your FBIL is a young man. He is probably stronger than everyone realizes. I hope he is okay. I also hope that you are doing okay tonight. It must not be an easy night, just waiting.
