We put my kitty to sleep today

He wasn't eating right the past few weeks.
We thought it was blockage.

They found a HUGE growth in his bowel and to remove it would mean taking all of his intestines out. Nothing was really left to put back together.

Sparky died today

We had him since June 13th 2005.

He was a spark in our life and a ham to all those who met him

We still have our big grey mass of love - Buddy but our house is very quiet and not the same today.

We just got back from seeing his body. We're both a wreck

oh i am so sorry to hear about sparky. it's obvious you loved him very much. if that's him in your avatar, he was adorable!! i know this must be a really tough time for you. we put my beloved kitty, abu, to sleep a month ago. he was 12 but he was still my baby. we then had to put my grandpa's cat to sleep a few days after my grandpa died last month. that was hard too. if you need to talk, let me know.

My kitties Max and KC send their condolences. I can't imagine how devasted you both must be. Glad he didn't suffer.

We're still reeling

Not even through our first bottle of wine yet and just saying his name makes us cry

He was only 10 months old

He used to have a routine of coming into bed with me .. walking across Jim longwise and sit on jim's chest until I was settled then he'd walk over and sleep on my chest/neck

Its going to be a long time to get over this.

I'm soooooooo sorry!

oh my goodness...that is so sad! did you find out what the mass in his body was?? I have a little Yorkie that was stepped on and almost killed four days after we got him....it was the toughest, saddest days of our lives when he was in ICU....I thought we were going to lose him, so I know how you feel.

I hope you feel better soon....perhaps after a little bit of time you can get another cat....will make you feel better to have another pet in the house.

I'm so sorry for you and Jim. I know what a horrible feeling it is to feel like there is just something missing.

DH and I had gotten a cat soon after we got married and had to put her to sleep only 3 months later and even after such a short amount of time, we were both devestated.

OMG Veronica I know how it feels. We had one of our cats put to sleep 2 years ago and it was sooo hard. My Sasha is 17 now and I am DREADING the day we might have to do this!

We are now looking for a new kitten to help us deal with this void.

so sorry...i know how you feel, we put or dog to sleep after 14 years! she had cancer.... they'll have fun chasing each other up there!!
