i dont think we'll be going with any of them because of the size restriction and/or the price but if i had to choose, probably glen cove mansion or the woodlands. glen cove mansion was above our budget but no restriction on the guarantee. the woodlands was closer to our budget but wasn't able to come down as much on the guarantee. more RH shoipping this weekend...can you tell i'm excited.

Nissquogue Golf Club
Lombardi's on the Sound
Bellport Country Club
Hamlet Willow Creek

We have narrowed it down to Lombardi's or Willow Creek.. But I am really still undecided!!

If anyone would like info on these, let me know!!

At least you know of someone who is going through the same disappointment regarding guarantees.

These are the places I have planned on visiting the next couple of weekends: Swan Club and Sans Souci. I also plan on going to Stewart Manor Country Club. I will let you know how they turn out.

wow you were super busy this weekend!!! If you are still looking I reccomend Milleridge Cottage, its in jericho and is absolutely beautiful (but i'm not biased or anything lol)

The Royalton @ Roslyn Country Club- FH loved the look of this place!!!! We both though the entrance/foyer was really small. FH was not happy that if guest got there early(since we would be having our ceremony there) that they would be directed to the cocktail room. We both loved the fact the we would have total control over the menu. No choosing from a pre set menu.
Butttttttt they wanted a 150min on a Sat at a really high price!! The highest from any venue we have seen.
We will keep this on a maybe (if we hit the lotto) list. lol

Try to the North Ritz Club! if you are all looking for smaller venues then maybe it's not for you. Otherwise give it a shot. I liked it the best of all the ones I saw....

Good Luck!! Once you find a place you love, the stress was worth it!

Wow thats alot to see and process in a weekend I hope you took good notes But when I am finally ready to go look at RH I might have to cram them all in one weekend too since FH lives in CT and we alternate weekends home.

Thanks!!! I have a feeling that is where we are going to end up.... FH and my parents LOVE it. My parents got married there years ago. I am still not sure, I have to get over the chairs and drapes haha. Everyone is telling me those things dont even get noticed!

The Metropolitan- Here is one I was really looking foward to. FH and I were not happy with the parking situation. When we walked in it gave me that club feeling which I liked. Then we started walking around because the BM was with someone and we really were not happy
It really looked like it needed work done. When we went into the cocktail/ceremony room FH hated it. He couldn't figure out how it would work considering the Bridal suite(which was tiny) was in the same room. The worst was the bathroom. Im not exactly big. I'm only a 5footer and not wide at all and man it was so tight in the stall. Plus from the lobby you can hear it flush. not kool. FH was not impressed with there menu. oh and there best feature was there huge bar which we found out there getting rid of to make the dance floor larger.
In the end it was not for us.
This venue will come off our list

You said the menu is very important to you - Have you looked at the Thatched Cottage?

FH and I looked at 12 places, and we thought this was the best menu. They give you tons of food at the CH, guests choose from 7 choices for dinner, and they give seconds.

Its also very pretty there :)

Ok...I hope I don't get too much grief for this BUT.....

It seems like there are places that you saw that had a few negatives, and a lot of positives. I def think you have to be picky but there is always going to be a few things you're not crazy about but overall it's great. I def don't think you should settle, but you may have to be a little flexible and weigh the pros and cons....

I love my place, if I could change anything I would want a bathroom on the same floor as my room, but I wouldn't not book because of that....

Awww that would be so nice if you got married there, especially since that's where your parents had their wedding! You will completely get over the chairs and drapes and they are always making changes and nice updates there anyway. I saw it decorated for a wedding and the room was gorgeous! They are having a bridal showcase on Feb 8. You should go!
