Wearing engagement ring after marriage?

I just had a question. I've seen many people after they are married and they no longer wear their engagement ring. I always wondered why they would just stop wearing it? I would want to wear my engagement ring AND my wedding band together! Am I alone here?

I probably won't wear my e-ring after I'm married. Only because I work with my hands so much during work that it's constantly getting caught on stuff. I've almost ripped off my finger several time when the ring got stuck on something while I was moving quickly.

I picked my wedding band so that it would be substantial enough to wear on it's own. And for special occasions, I'll just wear my e-ring as a right hand ring.

My mom recently stopped wearing the engagement ring and now only wears the wedding band. I plan on wearing both. I dont understand why women stop wearing the engagement ring. I know mine won't fit perfectly together but I love my Ering, so i want to continue wearing it.

I will probably wear it sometimes, but not all the time. Depends on my mood

Actually, it fits my right hand better, so i will probably wear it on the right hand.

i'm wearing both - we're even doing a short engagement ring ceremony - i'm VERY excited about it!!! It's got BEAUTIFUL sentement to it.... let me know if you want to see - i can post it for ya!

and as for me- i plan to wear both, thats why i got a band that matches my e-ring

I plan to wear mine together also but i know a lot of women stop wearing their e-ring b/c the insurance is alot of $$$ and if it is not insured they are scared to wear it. Crazy!!

I plan to wear both, but I have a feeling that if I do end up wearing just 1, I'll just continue to wear my engagement ring. I don't know why, but I actually don't care about the wedding band so much. I guess I look at it like the enagement ring cost so much, so I wanna get my money's worth of wearing it! If I could, I wouldn't even get myself a wedding band. I'm content with just the engagement ring. Hahahaha!

Jess, that's really beautiful.

I may only wear my wedding ring. For one thing, it is so unique I am having a really hard time matching it. And for another, the setting catches on everything and I am terrified of losing it.

It breaks my heart, but that's what I may end up doing.

I can see myself stopping wearing the ering as much. I know I will wear it everyday at first but as other people said, once you have children and either you swell during pregnancy or you worry about scratching your baby, or just maybe want to switch things up..I might wear it less

Lately I've noticed women I know and work with wearing their engagement rings on their right hand like a 'right-hand' ring.

i will wear both but prob my wedding band on my left and engagement on the right, just because I love them both alone.
