I got married last week and most of it was great. Sadly, my wedding cake was a complete disaster. My wedding hall provided the cake and sadly I agreed to it. Worst mistake of my life. I met with the cake vendor the wedding hall sent me to. We decided on the flavor, and were charged extra money for every little thing we wanted ( basically the cake was covered if it was plain white cake). I added details, changed the flavor and made it look presentable. On the day of the wedding, the cake arrives, I walked into the hall and literally cried. The cake looked awful! It did not have any of the designs I wanted, the items I paid extra for were not even on the cake and worst of all the flavor was completely wrong! Not one part of the cake was done right. I called the bakery the very next day and I was completely ignored. I sent an email and no response. If brides can give me suggestions as to what can be done with this issue I would greatly appreciate it!

Wedding cake disaster -Please Advice!!!!
I would suggest you let your RH know, unfortunately everyone has been paid so I don't think anything will be done. I noticed you got married at WM, that's where I am. I have heard mixed reviews about the bakery and am wondering if I need to look else where for a new bakery. Good luck.

Sandr325 whatever you do DO NOT get the cake they are offering! I spoke to several people who got the cake there and they were all unhappy with it! If I have read reviews first, I would have spent extra money and gotten a decent cake instead of the cheap cake they gave me that I could have bought at a supermarket. To get a flavor of cake wrong.. u know the bakery has to be bad!

I heard it was dry at the showcase. Going in October but sounds like I need to budget for a cake and see what WM will throw in instead of the cake. Sorry you had this happen and I hope the rest of your day was great.

Wedding cake disaster -Please Advice!!!!
I just went to that bakery to confirm everything with our cake, I'm not really adding anything to it nor am I paying anything extra because I'm not too crazy about cake and so does my FH and I know based on the reviews a lot of brides were not too happy with them, so I suggest if the cake and its design will be an important aspect of your wedding try researching other bakers/cake decorators to avoid any problems. (I ordered plain white cake with piping designs)

Continue to contact the bakery and RH. I dont know if there is much they can do about it now but you can at least let them know you will be telling other brides.

That's who my hall is using as well. Maybe we can all get together in protest and tell our halls we don't want them. It's pretty sad. The cake is supposed to be one of the highlights of the wedding.
I wonder how they get all these catering halls to use them exclusively?

Definitely tell your RH! There's probably not a whole lot that can be done now, but hopefully they'll try go to bat for you or no longer associate with that bakery and save other brides from the same experience.

I was wondering the same thing. Was it really THAT terrible? I am sorry that it did not come out as you expected. I am sure it was a beautiful day nonetheless!

Go the bakery and speak to the manager. Demand a refund of all or a portion of what you paid for. Was the cake free with the venue and you paid for the upgrades?

Re: Wedding cake disaster -Please Advice!!!!
If the cake comes with your package, it is NOT FREE. The cost of the cake is included in the price per plate. The hall would like you to think it's a freebie, but it's not. If they screw it up, especially if you paid extra cash for upgrades, you are well within your right to demand your money back.
Personally, I thought my cake from Francesco's was fantastic. That said, they did get one of my cake flavors wrong (vanilla cake w/ choc pudding instead of choc cake w/ choc pudding). Honestly I did not complain because it was still delicious.
I also had a different experience with designing my cake. I was able to customize my cake beyond a plain white cake with no upcharge.
