Wedding date - Please help me choose!

Original post by HSsweethearts

So I am behind the 8-ball planning a wedding. Thinking about Spring of next year. I wanted June, but it's pricey.

So then I wanted the Sunday of memorial day weekend, but it's booked.

The most reasonable choices seem to be

A Saturday night the first week in March
A Sunday night the first week in May.

They're the same price.

The downside to March is the weather is really iffy. ALso the grounds at my hall are really kind of blah in the winter. The upside is it's Saturday night.

The downside to May is it's a Sunday. I really want people to stay to the end and enjoy the cake and viennese, etc. And also to be in 'party mode' and have a good time. The upside is the weather will be nice and the grounds will have flowers and it''ll be spring- my favorite season!

I'm kind of leaning toward the Sunday at this point. I've been engaged for over 5 years, already planned a wedding and cancelled it and I really want everything as nice as possible. Please tell me what you think.

We could also do a Saturday night in like November for $30 more. It gives us more time, but my first wedding plan was winter, and I'm over it!

We don't have a ton of OOT guests, but we have a lot from upstate and NJ, but I think they're close enough family to take Monday off.

Choose your fav. season spring!! If thats the season that you really want, don't let a sunday night stop you from it, I've been to plenty of sunday weddings and it was totally fine!!

I have to agree with most of the posts..people will still stay or leave no matter what day it is..Just give people a lot of notice and they can plan accordingly. Good Luck
