Wedding Dress Question

Original post by LandJ2bewed

Where did you ladies get your dress from?
&
What kind of style is it?

I want to go dress shopping after the holidays and trying to get an idea of what kind of style to get.

TIA

I got mine from RK Bridal in the city. It's an A-Line and I LOVE it. I'm not really a ball gown kind of girl, and I thought i wanted something much tighter, but this one really suited my body.

ETA: Picture!

I really like this one! I can see myself wearing it!!!

Re: Wedding Dress Question

I got my dress from the Wedding Salon of Manhaset.

It's a silk taffeta ballgown with a dropped waist. Probably going to take out some of the tulle to make it a little less puffy.

I have pics in my album.

Re: Wedding Dress Question

I got my dress at a small bridal store by my house called Princess Bridals (in Farmingdale).

I told the lady what i wanted and she showed me things that she thought I'd like ... then she pulled out one dress that i said was awful .... but i tried it on anyhow and turns out it was gorgeous ... i bought it

remember that dresses look much better when you are wearing them ... so don't judge based on how they look on the hanger

Go to a store with an open mind and have the employees help you out

Good Luck!

EDIT: between the time i originally posted and today, i have grown to HATE princess bridals. they are nice to you until they have your money ... then they are nasty. (I just wanted to edit the message in case somebody does a search and reads this)

sounds beautiful!

I don't know if I should go with ballgown or an A-Line. I'm not a ballgown type of girl, but since were having around 200 people invited... my FMIL thinks I should get a big dress to stand out.

no offense to FMIL... BUT thats just silly... youre the bride you're going to stand out whether you are wearing a ball gown or a white pants suit... lol

ITA!! Try on as many gowns as possible, all different styles and get the one that flatters you the most... NOT what FMIL thinks is appropriate!!

ITA-wear something that you absolutely love and feel great in
