Re: wedding hotels

we made our final decision and blocked rooms early November 2009 and our reception is next Saturday (4/3/10)... we also planned the entire reception in under 6 months.

we expected around 20 room, so we blocked 20... we ended up with 25 and the hotel was more then happy to add rooms to our block. they also made the group rate price available up to 30 days prior to our event.

we used the Hilton on rt 110 in melville.

Re: wedding hotels

I am getting married in August 2011 and I booked my hotel block earlier this week. It seems the Hilton is more then happy to give you pricing more then a year in advance, however the Marriot said they can only get us prices 11 months in advance. I dont think you need to rush a room block but booking mine this far in advance gave me the 2010 pricing as opposed to next years pricing.
I told them I would need 10 rooms and they said that is no problem and that as long as people book a month in advance they can accommodate as many or as few rooms as we need. Anyone booking after july 2011 they can not guarantee a room.
FM me if you want contact info for either of the Hilton hotels in LI

Re: wedding hotels

we got the hotel block booked about 8 months before the wedding ... Four Points Sheraton in plainview allows you to book up to 15 rooms free of charge (past that, you have to guarantee a minimum amount of rooms that will be booked) so we just booked 15.

it really depends on teh amount of OOT people you are having ... we don't have TOO many so i think that'll be plenty
