I just receive an email from DeSeversky mansion and I gotta admit that I'm actually liking the idea of having our wedding in a mansion. Have u ever been in one for a wedding? if so which one? and what r the prices?

Re: Wedding in a mansion?
I am getting married at De Seversky in May...and totally cannot wait! I love the feeling that I feel like I am getting married at an estate. Let me know any questions you might have - I would be happy to answer them!

Re: Wedding in a mansion?
One of my friends got married in the Bourne Mansion a few years ago. It was really nice to have the whole place to ourselves. Huge rooms too. I enjoyed it. The only bad thing in my opinion was she had to spend a lot of $$ on decor.

I'm getting married at The Woodlands and there is just no comparison between a mansion and a catering hall! You have the whole space to yourself so you can really personalize it with photographs and other decor and attention isn't diverted from your affair by having 3 other brides running around.
I highly recommend it! I looked at De Seversky but it was just a little too small the number of guests we have so we went with the Woodlands and couldn't be happier!
Glen Cove Mansion is also another private space. Good luck!

we booked the Bourne Mansion, and I totally love it! It goes with our vintage theme as well.

I've been to a few weddings a mansions. They are really nice. If you like that old feel they are perfect. Some you have to decorate yourself from top to bottom and that can get really pricey. When you look at a place find out what you have to do to it decor wise. My friends got marriend at bourne and they had to provide the linens and everything.
It was such a unique venue. Got lots of compliments. I worked with Eric and he was awesome. Good luck!!! Congrats!

Not sure how it was then, but the Bourne definitely has house linens now, like an ivory color. The only thing that gets pricey is if you want flowers for the staircase or fireplace mantles, and there are 2 or 3 rooms ued for cocktail hour that you can decorate if you want.

linens are def provided (white or ivory) and you can actually pay $950 for uplighting if you want, which isn't a bad choice. i think the simple elegance of bourne is enough. no need to dress it up -- at least i wont.

We booked de seversky. I love the feel of having it in a mansion. it's so elegant and different from the usualy catering halls.
The prices are a little bit higher than some catering halls, and most usually have a site fee.

Is the woodlands the same as the delano mansion? If it is - google delano mansion. My friend is getting married there April 24th.
