ladies, i was wondering what 'new and hip' wedding trend did you just NOT WANT?
i'll go first. the funny thing is that mine is mostly an 'old traditional' trend... no bouquet toss and no garter toss (not enough sinlges at the wedding to justify).

HA HA Your last line says it all!!!! To tell you the truth ladies I have never heard of half of these ideas (I Do/We Do, monogram cake topper, OOT bags) till I started logging into LIW.
MY NO'S: No ceremony program No fancy shoes-most likely ballet slippers No rose petals-leaves instead no chocolate fountain bathroom baskets no OOT bags slipper basket no Petal Cones-perhaps leaves cones no stupid group dances( chicken dance, macerena, YMCA)-might have to compromise with FMIL on this one. She likes the cheese. GRRRRR

No slipper basket No guest book No specialty drinks No 'We do' letters No petals cones No chocolate fountain No tiara (maybe hairpins) NO receiving line No fancy shoes NO corny dance music- Chicken Dance etc. No e party No one seeing or knowing my dress until wedding day (except for Mom & MOH) NO chocolate fountain (had it twice once it was grooosss they had non sweet chocolate the second time I had it at least it was sweetened chocolate ~ I was not a big fan) NO ice sculpture No Flowers at the Church

cry packs petal cones bathroom baskets slippers viennese hour chicken dance song macarena song guest book we do letters programs dj giveaways do not plan on wearing any of clothes that say bride or would not even think of having my bridesmaids wear anything that even states that they are a bridesmaid (i feel like that is insulting them and is telling them that the bride is better than them. they are my friends, not my enemies) JMO though

I think this is traditional and I feel as if this keeps the guests amused if they are becoming bored with the wedding. I myself know I look forward to seeing the bok thrown and the garter thing done.
This is all just my opinion though.

I did not do the bouquet toss, garter toss, cake cutting ceremony (we did cut the cake, but off to the side without an announcement), no tiara,no oot bags, no dj giveaways or smoke, and no cry packs (I dont get these)

Cry packs...I'm sorry, and no offense to anyone, but that is so stupid...I've never been to a wedding where guests have been frantically seeking out a tissue due to the overflow of tears of joy. Maybe MOB or MOG but I definitely don't think anybody besides them will benefit from a kleenex in an envelope! LOL
DITTO! And we banned the dj's from playing any songs which solicite coordinated dances such as the ymca, macarana, chicken dance, or the electric slide.

I slept in apt. with DH the night before (why pretend I'm a virgin), no garter, no tiara, no buying my own toasting glasses and cake knives (caterer was more than willing to provide those items), no table cameras (everyone brings their own digital ones, why get crappy disposable pics).
Although I have to say, I did the bouquet toss and I LOVED it. There was something so cute about seeing all of my girlfriends, cousins, etc. getting together trying to catch the bouquet.
