I decided to start this thread for all of us that need support, encouragement, or want to support someone else.
I am trying to stay motivated and get in shape by joining weight watchers. Let's hope I see some results!
We can do it!!

Re: Weight loss support thread
I suffer from a terrible 'typical white girl body'... I mean I have boobs and a waistline, but right below it I have whats called 'doggy ears' and no butt...ugh!
ETA: Dinner time is my problem. I go to the gym and all but what does that do since when I come home from work or the gym I literally DEVOUR my refrigerator.

Re: Weight loss support thread
I think you should start off slow going to the gym. I am aiming for 3 days right now and when I go more often, feel really good. If you set your standards too high and don't meet them right away, you may get discouraged.

I think this is the best way to do it so you don't get burned out! I just started walking/jogging 3 miles a day with FH and we LOVE it! It's great to be outdoors and alone together without CELL PHONES!!! The days that it rains we plan to go to the gym and do some weight training.

We've also started walking together. FH is a toothpick, but the walks are a great way for us to just spend some time together enjoying the nice weather.

Good for you Hollie!!
For any Suffolk girls joining (or trying to stay motivated to go to meetings), I am a WW lifetime member. I managed to lose 25 pounds following the Points system (went from size 14 to size 6/8). I have kept the weight off for over a year. If anyone wants to go to a meeting or wants to meet me at a meeting FM me. I can generally be found Saturday mornings in Commack or Sunday mornings in Greenlawn.

Re: Weight loss support thread
Since the day I got my ring I have been so motivated... I go to the gym two times a day and got a trainer and starting weight watchers. I lost 10 pounds so far and want to loose 10 more.. What keeps me going.. I just picture me in my dress.. and that makes me not eat that cake or junk.

Re: Weight loss support thread
I gained 30 pds since I met my fiance and I need to shed it before the wedding and keep it off. I want to be 'healthy' for my FH and our Future babies...
I joined Weight Watchers and have lost 7 pds in the last month in a half.
I want to lose aprox 25 more pds before my wedding in April so I decided to increase my workouts. I do 45 - 1 hr of cardio and light strength training 5-6x per week. I decided to join a gym by work and am going to start taking classes 3-4 x per week. Hopefully that will help a bit!

Re: Weight loss support thread
I just started walking to work - today was Day 1. I haven't been able to diet, or even really eat healthy in months - from the bar exam to moving twice, there's just been too much other stressful stuff going on. I was supposed to start dieting and working out last week - my last week of freedom (I started work this week), but I just had ZERO motivation after everything else. So, for now it's baby steps... less eating out, starting to pay attention to portion control (put down that 3rd cookie!!!), walking to work, and hopefully as soon as I get used to waking up in single digit numbers again, I can start out the day with a workout too. I wanted a gym in my building so I better use it!!! It's been really rough but I'm trying very hard to get back on track.

Re: Weight loss support thread
Wow...congrats to all the success stories and motivators!
I joined WW Monday night. I'm feeling more motivated than I have in a long time. I thought when I got the ring over 6 months ago, I would have the biggest incentive of my life in front of me, but I really couldn't muster up the willpower. I even went to the diner with Conigs25 tonight, and did well.
Good Luck to all!

Congratulations!!! You are on the right track. Take things one step at a time and you'll be more likely to succeed!
