Re: weight watchers

its better to balance your points throughout the day. Dont save all of them for dinner because then you are eating too much at night. Its better to use more points by 3 pm than afterwords.

They have great posters at WW about how you can mix their meals with other 0 point foods. Like they have a 5pt pasta primavera and you can add another cup of 0pt veggies and 3oz of chicken and it will really fill your plate.

And yes, don't save your points for the end of the day. I know I'm not hungry either in the morning and I could probably go until 2 or 3 pm without eating. But that throws off my system and all I do is eat the rest of the day

I make myself eat a cup of yogurt for breakfast @ 8:00am. @ 10 I usually have an apple or Special K bar if I get hungry. Then I am ready for lunch @ noon which is a 5 pt sandwich and a bar or apple. Around 3 I usually have another 2 pt snack, and right before I leave work or on the train home I have another 2 pt snack. I listen to my body when I am hungry instead of just eating because it is time to eat. That snack on the way home is really a big help, otherwise I would walk into the house very hungry.

I try to save 10 points for dinner. i start it with a 0 pt salad, then have 6 pts of pasta and another 3-4 pts of meat. And I always have tons of brocolli or 0pt veggies to pile on.

Most of these servings are for 1 cup (I have the book in front of me):

Asparagus (12 spears)
green Beans
wax beans
Beets
Brocolli
Brussel Sprouts
Cabbage
Carrots
Cauliflower
Celery
Cucumber
Eggplant
Endive
Greens
Palm Hearts
Lettuce
Mushrooms
okra
unsweetened pickles
Peppers
Pimientos
pumpkin
radish
sauerkraut
scallion
spinach
sprouts
tomatoes
turnips
watercress
zuccini

Also: 1c fat free salsa, 2tbsp fat free italian dressing, 1tbsp vinegar

So basically, you can make yourself a salad loaded with all kinds of veggies, throw some fat free italian dressing on it, and enjoy without worrying about the points. Usually if I have an usually large salad I will add 1 or 2 points for the amount of dressing I use. And sometimes I will use fat free ceasar dressing and add 4 oz of chicken. It comes to about 8 points, but it is a GIANT bowl that takes me a long time to eat.

Also - if you do suddenly start loading up on veggies, watch your stomach. You may need to add extra fiber to your diet or get some beano.

Barbie - I love those wraps. I sautee a bunch of 0pt veggies with garlic, a tiny amount of olive oil, and add a slice of WW cheese. I have this big, cheesy, yummy wrap, and it is only 3 points.

1 wrap, 3 oz of white meat cubed, 2 tbsp of fat free salsa. watch the salsa. You have to make sure you get a fat free one. 2tbsp = 0 pts.

What about if you mixes veggies into other things. The only way I get FH to eat his veggies is if I mix a cup of mixed veggies into his pasta, or I make him a wrap with peppers. You need to be creative about it - just putting veggies on your plate is going to be Blah. But mixing it into foods you like will not only enhance the taste, but ultimately make you take smaller servings on the food with point value.

i only like onion, potato, mushroom, and corn.
to me most veggies taste like dirt or I dont like the texture.
I always retry them tho, you never know when your tastebuds will change.

Mushrooms are 0 points. So are onions (I can't have too many of those). Baked potatoes are 1-3 points depending on size. 1 cup of corn in 1 pt.

Think about it - if you add 1 cup of corn and 1 cup of mushrooms to one cup of pasta (4points) - you have 5 pts, but 3 cups. If you make 2 giant wraps (find the 100 calories high fiber wraps that are 1 pt each) - add the 1c of corn and the 1c of mushrooms to 4 oz of chicken - you can have a lot of food for very little points.

Just watch the oils and other things you may use for added flavor. They can add up.

Re: weight watchers

Alrighttt so far today I had:

1 cup shredded wheat, milk & coffee= 4 pts
1 Fiber One Bar = 2 points
Soup=2 points
WASA crackers= 1 point
carrots= 0 points
1 Yogurt= 2 points

11 points... I get 21. So I have 10 left for dinner!

I usually get 25 since I'm on maintanence but since I'm trying to lose this week I cut it back down to 21.

Oscar Meyer has the lean deli meats in the package and the turkey is 0 pts (maybe even 1/2 pt but the slider shows 0 pts) for 3 slices (keep in mind they are small and really thin though). its actually good too!

and as for the list of veggies, they're gonna be 0 pts RAW. most when cooked are 1 pt per cup
