Re: Weight Watchers Anyone ?

I've done WW before and have been going on and off over the past few months. Of course, since I haven't been committed to it, I haven't lost anything.

WW works, at least for me, if you stick to it. I'm starting back this weekend so let's keep the chat going and maybe we can motivate each other to keep going.

Need to lose about 30 lbs but would be happy with 20.

Good luck to everyone.

Edited to say: I just read the entire thread and wanted to let you know a few things:

WW will not hound you if you do not go back. I join and quit all the time and the people there are always happy to see me and never judge, even when I gain 4 lbs in a week.

As for the materials, I don't think you need to be a member to buy the materials. Registration is free so the first week, you can join, buy the materials and not return. However, I always do the best when I weigh in every week.

Before my wedding, I lost about 15lbs and was very happy with the results. I went every week and really followed the plan. Since then, I've been back a few times but never really put in the full commitment again.

I'm starting back now with the hopes to get back to me wedding weight or less.

Feel free to forum mail me with any questions you might have and I'd be happy to help.

Also, I'll post again with some of my favorite low point foods - since this post is getting very long.

Re: Weight Watchers Anyone ?

I went to my meeting last night and there were about 50 new members there. FI even joined last night. I hope that he stays on it with me.

The other night I took cool whip and put it between two graham crackers and it was delicious.

Good luck to everyone on WW.

Don't forget to journal and drink lots of water!

Re: Weight Watchers Anyone ?

FI joined with me and I really thought he would go once and that would be the end of it, but he is really full force on this. he is counting points and watching what we both eat. last night he made chicken cutlet marinated in reduced fat italian dressing on the george forman grill and it was so good. the best chicken cutlet i ever had.

he's really taking this seriously

That is great that you are doing WW with your FI and he is so into it. I sure hope that my FI sticks to it and follows the program.

Re: Weight Watchers Anyone ?

No, I'm sorry Alina. I'm starving my A$$ off over here! I need help as well! LOL!

I have eaten 4 points already, I am going to get a Subway Veggie Delight Sub for lunch, which is another 4 points. I have a lot left over for snacking. But I'm suffering!

Alina, the only thing I can suggest is, just cut back a little on the big meals.

Here's four point breakfasts:

2 lowfat frozen waffles with 2 tbsp. low-calorie maple syrup

1 small cinnamon-raison bagel with 2 tbsp. light cream cheese

1 cup cooked oatmeal with 1 11/2 tbsp. apricot spreadable fruit, 1/2 cup fat free or low fat milk

Good luck! I'll see if I can come up with some lunches for ya!

Do you like rice cakes? You can have 6 mini ones for ONLY ONE POINT! That might hold you over too!

Re: Weight Watchers Anyone ?

I eat a lot of 0 - 2 point stuff during the day. For example I have a special k cereal bar and a banana and thats 4 points. During the day i'll munch on baby carrots or celery. lunch is at 1 and that is about 6 points then i have a pear at about 4 which is 1 point and dinner is at 7. Lunch today i have tuna with light mayo, melba crackers and celery and that comes to 6 points.

I like dinner so i try and eat a lot of low point stuff during the day and drink a lot of water this way i'll have my big points for dinner.

what i also do is i budget my points. i am allowed 20 - 25 a day so i would say ok 3 meals a day, no more then 4 points for breakfast, 6 for lunch and 10 for dinner this way i can have my 2 point flying saucer which is 22 points for the day.

Re: Weight Watchers Anyone ?

Sorry, I don't like rice cakes. I do like celery sticks and pieces of broccoli and cucumbers, but today, I forgot my 'snack pack' - I had to call FH from work to put it back in the fridge, it was all packed up and ready to go. I working on fillin up on diet coke, just to save points.

I tried subway veggie delite, and didn't like it.

For breakfast, I am often a peanut butter/jelly/2 slices of bread person, but today I had yoghurt with mango, and a box of cereal, plus 2 cups of coffee b/c I couldn't get up, and some dried appricots.

I don't like chicken in general but had cornish game hen today (5pts) a sweet potato, and veggies.
At least lunch wasn't too bad (only 8pts, not my normal 12 or more).

Things I do like:
granola breakfast bars
12 grain bread
peanut butter, with something or on its own
apples
oranges
kiwi
celery
broccoli
cucumber
cherry tomatoes
couscous
any kind of steak or beef
shrimp/sushi
tomato based soups
mongolian barbeque without the sauce but with tons of veggies
occasional oatmeal
bacon - but I almost never eat it, b/c it bad for you

I like mediterranean, japanese, indian, thai and chinese foods. Don't like italian food or pasta.

Re: Weight Watchers Anyone ?

Alina: actually not really. I munch on celery or baby carrots during the day so by the time i have lunch i feel full. gotta love 0 point healthy foods. i'll have a pear or 2 clementines and i just keep munching on the low point stuff and it does fill you up. last night when i was eating dinner i was actually really full. I couldnt finish the rest of my chicken.

you can eat what you like just dont overload yourself with the big meals during the day. of the 3 meals a day which is your favorite. save your big points for that meal. i can pass on breakfast some days, lunch i usually skip but dinner is my favorite. so i eat low point foods like tuna and veggies during the day so i'll have the points for a nice dinner.

Granola bars are good. I just dont remember how many points they are. Apple with a little bit of peanut butter can be good for a mid afternoon snack.
