Hey girls!!!!! I started weight watchers two days ago on my own, I am a previous member so I have the points finder slider thingy but the thing that I am confused about is exactly how many points I have, I am giving myself like 24 points, could anyone tell me what the points are supposed to be for like 160?????
I just joined yesterday and according to the book the Points target for 150-174 is 22

Woo hoo!! This is a great thread!! I have done WW twice, and found it to be successful for me (more successful than South Beach). I have about 18 lbs I'd LOVE to lose before wedding. Any questions, ask,...I've been to many meetings!!!!!

Re: Weight Watchers Support Group Thread....
I would love to join the support group. I have been a member since last August and reached lifetime membership in February. I have lost 23.6 pounds.
I have to say that I am not a big breakfast person. I try to have at least 12 points left for dinner each day.
For breakfast I will eat a cup of high fiber cereal with half of a cup of skim milk. I am on a Kashi kick right now, (Kashi Good Friends with Raisins) one cup is 3 points, and the milk is one point. I also am a fan of Barbara's Puffins (cinnamon) They are one point for 3/4 of a cup. Both cereals can be purchased at Trader Joes or in the health food section of most supermarkets.
I also love having fat free yogurt with fresh fruit mixed in. I often get frozen blueberries or strawberries and will mix them in to vanilla, or any complimentary flavor of ff yogurt.
WW smoothies are YUMMY (well, the chocolate is anyway.) You can only purchase them at a WW center though. If you mix it with one cup of FF milk, it is 3 points, but 2 servings of milk. They are really stressing the imporatnce of milk for weight loss now, so this is a great option.
Also, KRUSTEAZ makes fat free and lowfat muffin mixes that are very good. I like the Blueberry (one muffin = 2 points) and the oatbran (this is actually a low fat muffin and is 3 points.) The mix can be found in the baking section in the supermarket by the muffins. The mix is so easy- all you do is add water!
These are my suggestions for breakfast (there are many more . . .)
Good Luck girls- I will check in tomorrow!
Pria Bars are 2 points and yummy snacks, or a small breakfast.

Hi Girls!!! I haven't joined any meetings yet but my sister in law and I are sharing the WW Website membership. I will write stuff down and she can track on the site. I am so not motivated for meetings or anything yet. Maybe soon. Should I really go!!
Thanks to all those who are going to help support eachother. I think I am going to be successful this time around. I need 20 pounds off PRONTO!!!!!!

I would like to join but I hate goinlg to the meetings alone. If anyone lives in the Brooklyn area or would attend meetings in the city, I would do it with them.

Good Morningggggggggg!!
So far so good!
I exercised for an hour this morning...I did that '3 mile walk away the pounds' tape. It took a lot since I had a few drinks at a bbq yesterday and I woke up with a stiff neck but I did it anyway!
I had a bowl of instant oatmeal (2pts) and a banana (2pts)!
We can be strong til lunch!
Good luck!

Hmm, chicken is always a safe bet. If you feel like cooking, if not and it is going to be take out, chinese is always a good bet...can't go wrong with chicken and broccoli!
I made my lunches for the whole week. I made nice big salads with lettuce, tomatoes, carrots, mushrooms, and a small can of tuna mixed in..some lite dressing and I am good to go!

Re: Weight Watchers Support Group Thread....
I used to go all the time...I never stayed for the meeting, I only went to get weighed. Some ppl feel that the meetings help a lot but I felt that facing the music and getting on the scale was more important.
I don't plan on going back to meetings but I have all the books and I weighed myself last night!
A big help is also having a pic of a wedding dress tpaed to the side of my computer monitor! Enjoy your Blimpies!

Re: Weight Watchers Support Group Thread....
Good morning! I hope everyone is doing well this Monday morning!
azoodie2 - what you said about weekends being your downfall is totally the same for me!!! I can do well all week long...but come the weekend...Forget it! All self-control goes out the window!! How do others deal with this?
Well today is officially my Day 1 of WW online! I am soo happy b/c I was able to convince DF to do it with me!! This is great, b/c he can sometimes be a bad influence on me eating-wise!
Well, today I started my morning with 3/4 cup Kashi Go Lean Cereal, a handful of raisins and skim milk. I also walked to work (20 minutes) so I've earned an activity point! Hopefully, I am on my way to getting rid of this 'engagement' weight! Who knew getting engaged 2 months ago would not only get me a ring, but also an additional 10 lbs?!?!
Have a great day everyone!

Re: Weight Watchers Support Group Thread....
Hello all! I am starting with lunch today because I am off and slept in =)
I had 1/4 of a Trader Joe's Spanokapita (Spinach Pie.) This was 4 points. So far so good! Good to hear that everyone is off to a good start.
I do go to meetings and to me have been a god send. I have a great leader who truly keeps you motivated. This accountability of weighing in and sharing your progress at meetings is what has helped me be successful at weightloss for the first time since I became a 'dieter' at 15 (10 years- I am now 25.)
For those of you who feel that they mess up on the weekends, here is my trick (and this has been confirmed by my leader.)
1) I weigh in on Sat. mornings. I can make it from Monday-Friday being 'good.' Since I know that Sat and Sun are a challenge for me, This is when I use ALL, yes ALL, of my flexpoints. I generally try to divide them 18 for Sat and 17 for Sun. OR I will use 20 on Sat and 15 on Sun. I eat WHATEVER I want for these points. I lost all of my weight this way- each week using all of my flexpoints the two days after I weigh in.
This works because
1) Most people tend to lose more on WW when they consume the MOST allotted points. This is the fuel your body needs to burn!
2) I know that I need to eat 'bad.' I can eat 'bad' all weekend, and then have the rest of the week to be 'good.' By the time I way in five days later, the temporary gain I show from indulging is gone, and I have actually lost.
(I am no longer focusing on losing, but on maintaining, so I have added points to my daily allowance. However, we are doing a 12 week weightloss challenge at my WW group, so I am now trying to lose 5 more pounds in the 12 weeks.)
I hope this can be a help to some of you!!! Just keep in mind, do not deprive yourself. WW is designed to allow you to eat whatever you want as long as you stay within your points. I did not lose my weight by living on fruit and vegetables. In my opinion, I never could have been successful if I had to give up my favorite foods.

Thanks Bri!!! Gotta get myself to the meetings I think!
How do the 35 flex points work?

Re: Weight Watchers Support Group Thread....
Each person is given a target number each day. In ADDITION to those points, you are given an extra 35 points to use however you would like for the week. So, if you have points target of 22 per day, and you did what I mentioned above and used 18 flexpoints on a Saturday, you are eating a total of 42 points for the day and this is totally fine. You can spread out those 35 points you get each week however you would like. I just use them all over the weekend right after I weigh in.

Re: Weight Watchers Support Group Thread....
Yes - I will sort of be doing this too....although I am starting today, I actually set it up so that my Flex resets on Friday, so that I have a ton of Flex to use for the weekend! Hopefully this will allow me to 'indulge' on the weekend! I am glad to hear it worked for you this way!!
