Weight Watchers...again

Original post by Thrilled

Just ignore if you don't want to read this...
I have tried and failed WW now 6 times. I checked my bank balance yesterday and saw that WW had put through the online service (which I had approved and asked them for etc) and I took it as a sign to go ahead and give it one last go. ON top of that Fergie was on Larry King Live last night and she looks friggin fabulous...another sign.

So I need lots of support!!! Let's hang in there together. I'm getting married 9-6-03, so the way I figure it, I have about 34 weeks or so to lose 25-40 lbs, which can be done! HELP ME GIRLS!

I totally agree! I can't tell you how helpful I am finding this thread... I feel like I use you guys for a journal and I don't want to disappoint anyone so I have to be good, so to speak! It's wonderful.

I may try to go to a meeting today, we'll see. I am not sure I want to see that mean lady that was there last thursday, but I need my journal (I am out of space)

Alina -
Someone was mean to you? How?

Re: Weight Watchers...again

They weren't that nice to her- Alina doesn't have that much to lose.... she actually IMO, has nothing to lose! You look great sweetie! but at WW, they apparently made her feel like she did not belong there because she was already so close to her goal weight!!! Did I get that right?

Re: Weight Watchers...again

Alina I'd be interested in knowing which lady was mean to you because I quit going to the WW closest to my ofc b/c the woman was such a beeyotch. She was an older women with like dyed purple-red hair and her name was Medea? Midia?
She then came to our office to do Office WW and all the girls hated her so much they quit going to the mtgs. She is very patronizing and condescending and speaks to us like we are a bunch of morons.

i would give that WW women a smack upside her head. how dare she be mean.

Re: Weight Watchers...again

Alina - that is HORRIBLE!!!!
I don't have that much to lose either but that doesn't mean that we can't struggle as much as anyone else with it.
I only need to lose about 10-15 lbs., but it's still been really hard for me.
At my very first meeting a woman (who was not there for a meeting, our meetings are held at a mall and she just saw me walking in) said to me 'I know you're not here for WW are you?' and stared at me like I was crazy!!!!
I was so mad, but luckily everyone at WW was nice and supportive!!!!!!!!

Sorry you had that experience Alina! whether it's 5lbs or 100lbs, we're all here for a reason!!!!

Re: Weight Watchers...again

sometimes its had to loose weight. I think the greatest thing for me so far in being in weight watchers is its reall helping me with my eating habbits. I tried slim fast, i tried cutting back on stuff, and nothing helped. With WW i can have what i want and just have to stay within my points.

being in WW has helped me with my eating habits and it has really opened my eyes to what i am eating.

Sage is right, whether it be 5 pounds or 100 pounds we are all in this together.

Re: Weight Watchers...again

I don't remember her name, but she only works at the 1290 Ave. Americas branch on Thursdays, and elsewhere during the week. She has white hair, claims that she is 70 (sorry I don't believe her) and also claims that she's been on WW for 30 years...
I also found her to be very 'businessy' in a sense that you couldn't ask a question quetly after a meeting, b/c there was a meeting immediately after, so part of me feels like getting my own nutritionist The question I was going to ask was how many pts was regular coffee with a little of regular milk, and 2-3 packets of regular sugar (all in all it ends up being 1-2 points, depending on how much sugar you put in.)

I meant to pay a visit yesterday, but it didn't happen, so I have to go today to get my journal thingie. I'll see if I can get the journal printout without attending the meeting.

Re: Weight Watchers...again

Sage, I totally understand what you mean. I was also intimidated a little b/c it was the first time I am trying an 'organized' diet, so when asked to raise hands for the newbies, I was the only one...

Alina - since I am a member online I can TRY to e-mail you the line to printing out blank journal pages....
FM me your e-mail address......

Re: Weight Watchers...again

Alina don't be intimidated. You paid your money like everyone else, so you have every right to be there like they do.

I remember I had this one insane instructor - this crazy woman who dressed bizarrely and basically 'preached' hellfire and brimstone - Like 'DO I hear an AMEN brothers and sister? with points you CAN lost the weight!' I was weighing in once and made an offhand comment to the girl weighing me in that the instructor was 'Quite the character' and she got all offended and pi$$ed off going 'Whaddya mean a character? She is a wonderful instructor!' and I was like 'Uh, yeah, she is....relax already.' Needless to sat my meetings experiences were not the best, which is why I retreated to online. THis is not to say that meetings aren't a wonderful resource for most of you...I just had sukkie experiences with most of them.

Re: Weight Watchers...again

I go on saturday mornings to the WW in the metro mall (on metropolitan ave) and my instructor is so funny. she puts stickers on your card, she makes you feel good about yourself, and she really keeps you focussed. if you lose an ounce she is like yea lets all celebrate.

brian thinks she is a little too energetic for a saturday morning, but she is really nice and very motivational

I used to go to a great meeting w/ Jackie on 59th & third- I LOVED her.. so funny. But- got sick of sitting in meetings w/ women who would be all whiny about eating a slice of this or a taste of that...
