Well, I tried on my gown...

now I'm ready to pull my hair out. (Alterations nightmares. )

Here's a couple of pics (sorry for the ****y shots, but as we found out today, my sister shouldn't quit her day job to become a photographer. ):

No. I have an appointment next week for a true fitting. Tonight was just to try it on. I don't know if I should see if I can get in earlier or just wait until next Wednesday.

My FH thinks I'm freaking out over nothing, but I'm ready to puke.

It's a beautiful dress, but I see what you mean about the alterations. I'm sure something can be done...I wish I knew.

The dress is beautiful!!!!! What sort of alteration nightmares? From the pics it doesn't look like it needs that much altering at all! Is it the length? Did you have your shoes on?

My shoes were on and they even had a higher heel than the shoes I had on when they measured me. It's definitely too long. I have to lift the gown to walk, otherwise I walk on it.

The length is my biggest concern. They put cups in which need to come out, but that's no biggy. The waist may need to be taken in a little bit, but the detail wouldn't be lost there. It's the bottom that is my concern.

I just remeasured myself and compared it to what they had written down and it's off by 2 inches.

Jenny do not panic until you talk to the seamstress!! If they can add sleeves and other details to peoples dress you will be surprised what they can do!!! Do not panic until you truly have reason to panic. Keep us updated!!

If they measured you wrong, they have to do whatever it takes to correct this problem. I am sure it will work out! I am so sorry you have to be stressing about this. I would speak to a seamstress tomorrow to make sure alterations of this type can be done, this way if they can't, you have as much time as possible to have them rush you a dress in the appropriate length. I will keep my fingers crossed. Positive vibes

That dress is gorgeous! Don't give up hope. I am sure they will be able to do it. It is amazing how they can alter things. (providing they have an excellent seamstress.) Best of luck to you!

It's such a beautiful dress. I know when it comes to lace and beading that it's hard for them to hem that without messing up the detail, hopefully they can do it, but if not, since it was there mistake they need to rush you a new one with the correct length.

Jenny - LOVE the dress, infact I have always thought you picked a GORGEOUS dress....but I totally see what you mean about the length....

I have the same type of dress that had to be ordered to fit my height b/c of the lace and beadwork around the bottom and although i haven't tried mine on yet...Going to this weekend, I am a bit worried.

What did they say about alterations??? What can they do? If nothing can be done and they ordered the wrong length (obviously) how quickly can they get another gown in?

I am sorry for your frustrations and I will hope your fitting goes well and that they have some answers for you!
