Well ladies looks like............

there are no job positions for this year for me or for FH Im so upset I send out my resume to over 120 schools and called them so many times during the summer- only to find out this week that the 'the position has been filled'. D amn NYC budget

I will most likely be accepting a job at a day care as a pre school teacher though however you work all year round no summers or those occasional weeks off. Im just so upset though I was really looking foward to having my own classroom and doing what I love to do (while getting payed for it!)

Hpefully next year will turn out better........

Oh unfortuately I cannot substitute either since I need a steady income and benefits so thats out too

aww, i'm sorry. i hope maybe this is happening for a reason-- maybe there is a better opportunity out there waiting for you and if you would have taken something else then you would have missed it. try to think like that! this just means that there are bigger and better horizons for you!!!

He also needs benefits and fulltime work - there is NOTHING out there. I'm so upset, but I haven't let him see me cry. He needs to maintain a job in the education field for the required hours for his masters, too. I think he's going to try to sub, but get a nighttime job as well. I've heard that Costco offers good benefits.

The sad reality is that next week, I start school again. My work hours are cut, and there's NO WAY I can support both of us and pay for a wedding on my salary alone. Between 2 tuitions, car payment, insurance, etc., I don't know what to do

Sorry to hear that - it seems like so many people are having trouble getting hired this year - I know 2 of my friends have not got hired yet either. Start searchin the NY Time is like February - i heard that is wehn the schools in LI start posting their openings. Good LUck!

Did you try applying on the Island or just in the city? On the island you sometimes have to 'pay your dues' and be a perm. sub first. I would start putting resumes out again mid year because a lot of people get pregnant and you could end up in a leave replacement. I know for a fact that my district has many people going out early next year and im sure others do also!

Either way, working at a day care as a preschool teacher is great experience and will only add to your resume for the following year.

Dont be bummed, things always happen for a reason, you'll end up with your own classroom, it just takes time!

Awww I'm sorry this is happening to you. If it makes you feel any better, when my mom was changing jobs she had the same problem and then in October she got a call as a leave replacement with a possible permanent position. Needless to say she worked there for 15 years until she retired last year.
Maybe like STBMrsDaniRella said 'maybe there is a better opportunity out there waiting for you'

Awe. so sorry to hear. I completely feel your pain. My FI and I are in a similar position. We have been looking for guidance counselor positions since January adn have had no such luck. It is so tough. Hopefully, one day soon we will all find the jobs we are looking for. Good luck.
