went dress shopping found ' THE DRESS' came home showed mom and she HATES it
shes yelling at me, telling me that its too cold out for that dress(its a strapless)...says that its november and that its going to be cold so i better have an indoor studio for pictures...
that my sister wants a long sleeve matron of honor dress because its going to look cold but shes afraid cause bm dresses have no sleeves
upset because of the price $600... she wanted to spend like $350....
and i think upset cause i went with my bridesmaid instead of her, but i didnt buy... but i know its ' THE DRESS'

Strapless is appropriate no matter what time of year!!!!!Don't worry - she's probably just acting out b/c she's hurt you didn't take her....
Take her to see it and try it on for her....
You get the dress YOU LOVE and don't listen to ANYONE else!!!!
$600 for a wedding dress is a STEAL!!!!

Look - it's your wedding and you need to love your dress! A lot of people end up having strapless dresses, even in cold weather - I assume you're not having an outdoor reception!! I think you need to explain to your mom that you love the dress, it's your wedding, and that's that. The price is really cheap - relatively speaking to how much dresses can cost! If she is not happy with the price and she is paying - I would contribute the difference.

moms sometimes dont get it. i am getting a strapless dress and i am also getting married in november. i am planning on taking my pictures at the old westbury gardens.
maybe you can take your mom on the next trip.

you have to do what's right for you! If you are fine with long sleeve MOH dress, then I am sure you will be able to find one, or get a wrap for her.I don't know much about nov pictures outside, where you planning on that to begin with,,,might be cold no matter what dress??
Do you have a picture of it?
not everyone has the same style, my MOH did not like my dress

I am getting married 11/24/04 and I have a strapless!!!! Be strong and let her know its your wedding and its your decision!!!!!!!!!! And if you have too pay for it yourself!!!

hmm....which dress is it? Maybe it will go on sale? If you're looking to save on tax, you could go to NJ, but I don't know if it's worth it for like $50. Maybe you could offer to pay half? Either way, I think it's a little unrealistic to find a dress for $300. $500 maybe, but I didn't see any for much less than that. Except at the filene's basement sale, but most of them were samples.

my friend got married on 12/27/03 in RI and she had a strapless dress...the bridal party (me included
) had halter style dresses.So do what you want to...it is your day not her day. Secondly $600 is truly a steal

My mom hates my dress because:1- I have to get it taken it (is she crazy? Of course I have to get it altered)
2- It's too big (it's a typical ball gown, what does she want from me?)
She is still looking at magazines picking out dresses I should have bought. Meanwhile, my dress is hanging in my room.
Mothers will never be pleased. So don't worry. If you know it's the ONE, then go for it!

I think you are probably right about her feeling left out. Ask her to go shopping with you again. Tell her you love this dress but need to look around more first before you make a decision! She may just be saying all of htis out of hurt!In the end its your wedding. If she has a problem with the $ offer to pay the difference if she will pay for alterations!

shes now telling me that i 'dont live in the real world' and im going to have problems when i move out and people arent doing things for me...im fully self sufficient.. i already billpay, clean cook, fh does laundy...
*** MO its a davids bridal dress.... not included in their sale..
