I agree with alot of the girls on here that have said she's probably upset you did not go with her for the dress. You have to remember that throughout your wedding planning, everybody is going to have an opinion about everything, and bottom line is that it is your day, and you have to say 'thanks for your opinion/suggestion but we are going to do this.' I've been practicing assertiveness training for the last year and a half!
I saw your picture posted with the dress on, and you look beautiful. I also agree the type of wedding gown you get has nothing to do with the weather, & strapless is fine any time of year!

My friend just got married over this past weekend!! and it was strapless!don't sweat it if it is the dress keep it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! don't let you mom be like mine!!! tell her i am sorry i went with you and that you really love this dress!!! you will be fine!!!

i think any type of dress is appropriate...the most important thing is that you love your dress...i am a nov bride also and i like either the strapless or spaghetting strap dresses...you shouldn't let anyone else make the decision for you...i understand though that it can get frustrating when others, especially mom, has a totally different opinion...hopefully it makes it a little easier for you that you have the support of a lot of people here

I hope you don't find this offensive, but what type of dress does she hope to find for $350???Isn't the $250 more worth her daughters happiness? Can't you just ask her to pay what she feels comfortable paying and then you will pay the difference?
Do not let her 'bully' you into a dress just b/c it's cheap or b/c SHE likes it - YOU GET THE DRESS YOU LOVE!
