Re: Went to check some halls

I have a coworker who raved about her wedding at the Sterling in Bethpage and her pics were fabulous. I don't think my price quote for Westbury is going to help as we had a friend who is part of the family, but I can let you know what their quote includes and what upgrades we were able to get thrown in, FM me and I will give you that info if your interested.

As for day of the week, personally I wouldn't love being invited to a Monday wedding, but depending on my relationship with whom was inviting me I would make it work, or would choose not to attend accordingly. However, I do understand with the cost of weddings getting in my option irrationally high, that you have to do whatever you have to do to have the affair you want with a budget you can live with.

I originally wanted to get married on a Saturday afternoon for this reason, but Westbury Manor worked with my FH and his best friend to make the price work so we could have an evening affair. Otherwise it was going to be a Saturday afternoon for sure

Food is AMAZING at Vivaldi, I actually wanted to have the reception there, but the room was too small to accommodate my party. They own Venetian Yacht club too.

Went to check some halls

Before I went to a Monday night wedding, I would definitely explore some other options such as holiday weekends like others have said or even off-season winter weddings. I am SURE you could get a winter wedding on a Sunday for way under $100 pp. As a guest I would be much happier to go to a Sunday wedding in the winter than a Monday night wedding any time of year. Honestly, imagine someone having a work conflict for that night and having to tell his/her boss that they can't attend due to a wedding, or even an early meeting the next day.I understand you have to save money (I can definitely respect that) but I just think I would explore other options and use a Monday as a very last resort.

Went to check some halls

My best friend was able to do a sat night in Feb 2015 at the three village for a little over $100 PP - im sure if you were willing to go to a Fri or Sun in the winter you'd be able to do so.

If your open to winter that would save you a ton. Also check out complete wedding packages in east meadow. Using an affordable vendor like that who does photo, video and dj would save as well if you need two days. Otherwise I would definitely get a bunch of quotes to find the right price for a hall. I found Riviera to be very reasonable. Also I went to a wedding the day before 4th of July which was a Wednesday I believe and I thought it was genius. I barely noticed since I was off the next day and I'm sure the couple saved a ton. Good luck!!
