were you and/or BP introduced at the....

reception? I don't want the big introductions with the whole BP making the arch for us to walk through but I still think the BP should be recognized somehow..anyone do anything different or have any ideas?
Thanks

Re: were you and/or BP introduced at the....

We didn't do any big intros at our wedding. We went to our cocktail hour and spent time with guests there. The band just called us up to do our first dance 'We would like to invite Michele and Scott up to the dance floor for their first dance as husband and wife'. It was really nice and elegant.

Thanks Michelle31,
Did you introduce your BP at any time?

Do any of you lovely brides think that I owe it to them..that is publicly anounce who is who?

Personally I think that a big part of the whole reception is the actual introduction of the bridal party, parents, and bride/groom....I can't wait!

Re: were you and/or BP introduced at the....

I really tried to avoid the typical entrance at the reception - and I knew my BMs wouldn't mind not being the center of attention, but we couldn't think of another way that would work for us.
So our bridal party (no parents) and DH and I were introduced to U2's Beautiful Day. It worked out well, since the guests didn't go crazy, and it was kinda fun to go through that!
I don't regret doing it this way, since it seemed to really kick off the reception to a great start

Re: were you and/or BP introduced at the....

Even though we had a receiving line at church as well as mingled during the cocktail hr, we still had the intros. That was the one thing that I really wanted -- we didn't do the garter toss, or the bouquet throw (rather we had an anniversary dance to give away the throwaway bouquet)....but the introduction was something I felt was needed. The entire bridal party was introduced as well as both sets of parents.

We had the BP come in to 'Heaven must have sent an angel', then we came in to Barry White 'my first last everything' then we went under the BP 'bridge' and had our first dance ....I know so cliche....but so worth it!! I had butterflies - it was just so cool being introduced like a movie star! Wouldnt change a thing! I know when I'm a guest at weddings I look forward to the introductions at reception.

Re: were you and/or BP introduced at the....

thanks for the advice!
At first I didn't want any intros at all but I have been having some feeling that I might regret it so I am not sure maybe I will have the intros but low key.
Thanks again!

Re: were you and/or BP introduced at the....

we had the gm stand by the entrance and the band played 'the way you look tonight'...each of the bm walked in, her partner took her arm and walked her to where the bp was sitting...then we were asked to walk in and dance our first dance as husband and wife....it was very simple and still gave credit to everyone....

I'm with Jennbaby. The crowd waits for the big introduction and its always fun to hear the excitement. If you wnat you can skip the bridge - the BP can just stand on the sides.

Re: were you and/or BP introduced at the....

fletch, I think I am going to do the intros but skip the bridge...something like dkja1026 did.
I don't know why I just feel like me nerves are going to be totally on edge with so much focus on me the whole day, but I guess it is the only time I will have everyone's attention so I should enjoy it.

Thanks so much for the advice ladies, I didn't really realize how important the intros can be.

FH is very worried about all the attention that day. He says it will be weird to be in a situation that is all about us but I say enjoy and have fun. Just do whatever makes you comfortable.

Re: were you and/or BP introduced at the....

I loved how we came into our room, we had our wedding at Chateau Briand and we had a room where the floor dropped and we stepped on it, the lights went down and we came up out of the floor, we were like stars, we told no one. We wanted our Bp to feel special so we had them introduced, they all came in to a different song, which made it so much fun. They had a treat for hubby and I, since we came in last we were not able to see what they did until we saw our video we loved it. They were as much as part of our day and we thought it was nice. It's up to you, so do what you and your hubby are comfortable doing. We would not have changed a thing

Here are some pix
