Just an experience from someone who already is married -- we had our grand entrance at the start of reception --> introduced to the crowd for our first dance and then right into Jewish traditional dancing and were still present at our cocktail hour (well last 1/2 hour of it) -- it was just more time to chat to the folks who had come so far to be with us and did not detract one bit.

we are going to cocktail hour.... we will go to bridal suit like 15minutes before it ends, then get announced into the reception hall..

I want to be there to enjoy every moment with my friends and family besides, I am paying for the hour why not enjoy it

Def going to the cocktail hour - honestly, I don't see the point in sitting in a room or taking pics while all of our most beloved people are having fun with out me at OUR wedding! Grand entrance can absolutely still be had when you have been to the CH. Besides, it's the best part of the wedding day! I am sure I will need and want a drink at that point.

I was not because I wanted our entrance to be more exciting. Looking back however, I regret not going.

Yes, we are definitely going to our cocktail hour! I don't want to miss a single moment of being with our guests, and I'm hoping to get to say hi to everyone then so we can just dance the night away at the reception. We're taking pictures before the ceremony.

We did pics until about 6:20 or so and went to cocktail hour until about 6:45 to say 'hi' to guests.
Then we (me,dh,parents,and BP) went to suite had our own time and got prepared to line up..during this time my brother gave a very nice toast and im so sad that video guy didnt catch it..but thats ok. I still love my video

i went back and forth with this but decided at the last minute after we got the pictures out of the way to go to the cocktail hour. im so glad that we because i never would have gotten the chance to sit and speak to all the guests. the night went so fast

We are going to try and go to part of our cocktail hour. It depends how long pictures end up taking. But we still plan on doing the official entrance into the reception.
